It comes down to weekday pitching. Not that it's bad for UK but their weekend pitching is much better.

Two frosh pitched for UK yesterday.

Of course, that doesn't explain their lack of scoring.

UK must have some decent midweek pitchers to have compiled the record they have. I heard on a talk show that the NCAA regional (or subregional) will be at UK and that UL will be there. That would be interesting if they play again.

It appears the Cards have the Cats number this season.

OK...but what does this mean? Are you saying the most experienced pitchers (obviously) are pitching on the weekends, so the really crappy pitchers are pitching on the weekdays? But wouldn't that be leveled out because it would be pretty much what ALL teams do?

In the end, doesn't it come down to 2 things, really? Defesne (fielding, turning the outs, etc), and Offense (actually getting hits and advancing runners)?

Twice I've seen the UL wins over UK eschewed on "weekday" pitching. OK....so then explain a 12 run win and a 8 run win? That isn't just pitching.

I think it shows the mental aspect of college baseball. If UK had not won series against LSU, S Carolina, UGA, then we UK fans would have to admit that UL is simply better. UK did NOT lose those series to much better teams than UL has this year(still a good team - not great) so logic says it's "something else." It just makes good fodder.

If Uk isn't using their "Weekend Pitchers" against the Cards as many have stated doesn't it stand to reason that Louisville is probably doing the same thing and using their weekend pitchers as well??

I haven't checked what the line up for Louisville was in this week's game. But in the first game, we pitched a frehman.

Correct. Still doesn't tell us anything. In CBB it's all about the weekend matchups.

So Louisville's weekday team is better than UK's weekday team...who cares.

Not saying Louisville isn't good because they are. I love Coach McDonnell. While a good win, it doesn't tell us much about either team, really.

 Good stuff in here...

Bottom line, UL SMACKED UK twice this year. Some UK fans just cannot stand a loss to UL, regardless of the sport.

Bottom line, UK is ranked 5th in the country and finished first in the toughest conference. I'll take it.
