Crons 17U lost in the elite 8 round of the D2 nationals in Orlando.

 

Very good tourney for Crons.

They managed to do it without the help of Justin Saunders, a key scorer for them.

He was out with foot trouble.

Hopefully he's ready for school ball.

Is division 2 nationals NCAA certified?

Hoop Dreams 14U out of Lexington, KY went to Nationals in Orlando a couple weeks ago and placed in the top 12 out of 104 teams.

Congrats to the Crons. Always fun to watch them play. Always seem undersized yet always seem to over perform. Great job coach Hester.

Yes....and while you don't see a whole lot of D1 caliber talent playing in that division the D2, D3 and NAIA coaches can find a whole lot of talent in that tourney

Went to Nike Elite Invitational in Hampton three weekends ago. Beverly sprained ankle in first game. We went 2 - 1 in pool play, losing close one to DC Assault who went on to lose in championship of gold bracket by 2 (to NJ FACES). That loss knocked us down to silver bracket. We lost in championship of silver bracket by 5 to CP3 All Stars (Chris Paul's program). Play in Under Armour Jam Fest in Pittsburgh this weekend. Team looks good.

Braxton Beverly and Robert are no longer on the team and didn't participate in Nationals. Braxton rejoined KY Elite. Also, Carson Williams of Owen County and Thad Moss of Boone Co are on Hoop Dreams.
