March 26, 201214 yr Why in the hell would any remotely successful coach want an SEC job outside of Kentucky or maybe Vandy? Paycheck, access to talent, warm climate, Big 6 conference ... need more?
March 26, 201214 yr How is it a lateral move? If he is as good as I think at recruiting and coaching, he will have South Carolina right behind Kentucky, Florida, and Vandy in a few years.
March 26, 201214 yr Author Looks like it is now official... The games with SC just got more interesting.
March 26, 201214 yr I think its a great move for South Carolina and Frank Martin. Seriously would you rather live in Kansas or South Carolina? Where was K-State's program before the one year of Huggins and with Martin? K-State is relevant because of him. South Carolina will be in two years as well if he goes.

People are forgetting what K-State basketball was just 5-6 years ago. It made UK football look like a good job. Huggins was able to stage a recruiting coup due to his coaching situation in-between jobs and build the program overnight.

March 26, 201214 yr I can't believe nothing was mentioned yesterday on CBS I guess it was just done last night or this morning.
March 26, 201214 yr I do not recall the recruit's name but a "big" is now back on the market since Frank is leaving KSU. I read he had UL high on his list before committing to KSU.
March 27, 201214 yr Author I do not recall the recruit's name but a "big" is now back on the market since Frank is leaving KSU. I read he had UL high on his list before committing to KSU.4 star Robert Upshaw. Ranked 43rd on Rivals.
March 27, 201214 yr 1. Martin and the A.D. were not getting along. 2. K-State did not make a play to keep him when rumors began over the weekend. 3. He was making 1.45 million at KSU, at USC he will make 2.05 million. 4. South Carolina is closer to his recruiting base in South Florida and D.C. 5. K-State has to compete with Kansas in state. At South Carolina he doesn't have that problem with a state school in conference and the Athletic Programs are better across the board which equals more support. e.i. (football and baseball) Its a no brainer.
