What is going on with everyone leaving LCA? Every year it seems like 3 or 4 kids transfer out.

Where did the KHSAA publish their draft changes? I did not see it in their board meeting agenda or any documents with these changes. -
Sam Elsbernd is the new coach at Holmes
brooksville replied to se7ens's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Sam is a great coach and friend and I hope he has success which I’m sure will happen. At Bracken girls and Pendleton boys he did the best job he could with the players he had so he’s been in this situation before. I think he did a good job on the court coaching, but off the court he knows what it takes to run a program. -

What is this thing that apparently happened 10 years ago that the superintendent is mad over? -
Sam did a great job as the girls coach at Bracken County. He coached Bracken girls for two seasons and Pendleton boys for four seasons. You can’t just look at the record because at neither place was he lucky to have a talent. He will put in the work and in my opinion the #1 person Holmes should offer the job to.

Harrison County will be fine. Certainly not as good as this year, but still in the upper middle of the region. They will have a new gym similar to Montgomery County in the next 3 years. -

Yes, the plans are Newport. -
The new look Memorial Coliseum will open in the fall of 2024. I say the All “A” Classic state tournament and 11th Region Tournament be held there. I know it’s hard with volleyball and women’s basketball playing there. But surely they can work something out with UK, right? The women’s season ends a week earlier (typically) at the SEC Tournament. And if they are still practicing/playing they can use Rupp Arena. It’s has hosted the 11th Region tournament 13 times with the last being in 1994. Murray, Western, Northern, Eastern, Morehead, and Pikeville make it work.
