We have had that situation down here, but it is nothing official, the players choose to specialize, BUT three very good baseball players have come out for football just this week and will be suiting up for the first time against Sheldon Clark. I hope they stay healthy............

He won mvp of 57th district baseball tournament as an 8th grader. In JV game Monday I believe he threw for 3 touchdowns and ran one in.

PCC was one one of only two games we won last year. How good can they be? Just Kidding! Go Hornets.

What about the "non skill" players. My son is a lineman and his only complaint about football is that he can be perfect at blocking and tackling and no one seems to know or care. When the back gets a big gain it's all about the back. When the back gets tackled in the backfield, its all the lineman's fault.

I have always heard that baseball players are strongly encouraged to stick solely to baseball there.

This is going to be one of the best games of the evening. Two local teams going at it with the backdrop of Septemberfest. Should be a great crowd. As for the game, SC will be tough. LC has to bounce back from the Belfry game and play hard with some spirit from the get go. This one will come down to the wire with the DAWGS earning their first win in a hard fought game.

I was in the stands before the game and the consensus was that we could not make any mistakes. Belfry won the toss and deferred to us and we had a nice pass for a first down, and on the next play we fumbled. It was all down hill from there. You can't make mistakes against a team like Belfry. They are the best team I have seen in awhile top to bottom, and they operate together like a sewing machine. I hope they win it all. As for the Dawgs, we still are not clicking on that new offense. I am starting to think that the new offensive look should be abandoned in favor of a more run oriented set.

Don't get me wrong. Putnam is a wonderful facility with lots of history, it just always seemed to me that the crowd and the overall atmosphere has an effect on the way the game is called. I personally have not seen the like at any other facility. Whatever they are doing in Ashland, they should keep it up.

Will this game be a mirror of the Louisville/Murray St debacle, or will it be a fun game to watch?

Where is this game being played? LSU couldn't beat Ashland at Putnam. For some reason, the refs there are less than neutral. Hope Ashland enjoys their new class. Go Panthers!

I was impressed with the way Lawrence Co handled the run against Coal Grove. Belfry is a fine team and a win over the Pirates would be great leap forward for our program. Lawrence Co. 21, Belfry 14.

Lawrence County had a chance to tie with 1.8 seconds left but could not pull off the comeback having been down 28 to 0 in the 4th.
