I just finished looking over the 2008 roster on the KHSAA web site. North looks like they are going to have a young team in 2009. It’s going to be difficult to replace some of the size and talent they have had the past two years. They might try to get some teams like Central, Male, Manual etc. to help get them ready for the teams in their district.

Where can you find a list of what players made all district?

I’m not in Jefferson County but understand they have a lot of issues with where students can attend school. What if a student can continue to attend any school they want, but still play sports in the district where there home is located in? That would be similar to all the other counties in the state I believe? I know it might be a pain for the student to play ball at say Atherton while they are attending say Manual or Male but they are going for the academic not the sports program. As for St X and Trinity I believe a lot of the things I read in the post. They are an outstanding program because of the amount of students, facilities, coaching etc. I believe they should be able to play any team they want in the regular season and have playoff games with all the private schools in surrounding areas and even states. I enjoying watching X and Trinity play each other because they are even competition. I’m sure the private schools could work it out.

Below is the information from the KHSAA site. If I'm reading this correctly the game will be away. (East and North are both in Region: 1 District: 4) 5) For the semi-state round (fourth round), the champion of region 1 will play the champion of Region 2 while the champion of Region 3 will play the champion of Region 4. The team representing the even-numbered Region shall host the games in even-numbered years, while the team representing the odd numbered Region shall host the game in odd-numbered years.

Game will be at Bullitt East.

It sounds like these kids only changed schools to play for the coach? That in itself is a little shady. The coach and players knew this could be a problem and it has affected all the teams in District 3 and 4. North Bullitt earned a number 2 spot and they will be playing a team that would have been a number 1. If teams only get a slap on the wrist then what do they have to lose?

ThrowItDeep, we agree 100%. I agree with the post from Mike Check "Jerry Wyman made the paperwork mistake and he is calling in a favor to the KHSAA." Western should not be allowed to play if a violation was made knowingly or not. Breckinridge County may not have the best record but they played by the rules and should be allowed to play.

So punishment is not playing at home in the playoffs? I agree with BullDog, " The forfeiting of games is just the KHSAA slapping the Warriors on the wrist." An easier game at the beginning can give a team time to heal up and tune up. I believe the Bullitt county teams earned that right.

I believe that is the only way to be fair. IMO, this opens the door for all teams to try break the rules. What do teams have to lose by breaking the rules? From what I have been reading these players followed a coach and knew this could be an issue. If rules are broken and teams play ineligible players for what ever reason why should they be allowed to affect all the teams in district?

If they were eligible why doesn't the KHSAA give them back their wins? If rules were broken I don't think they should be allowed to play after the regular season is over

The KHSAA should not allow teams that use ineligible players to participate in the playoffs. I think that Breckinridge County should be allowed to play because they didn't break any rules.

The third-place tie between the Western and Atherton football teams in Class 4-A, District Three will be decided by a coin toss during Thursday's area athletic directors meeting. Western (2-6, 1-2) and Atherton (1-7, 1-2) did not play this season because their Sept. 19 meeting was canceled because of the windstorm that hit the Louisville area that week. The winner of the coin toss will be the No. 3 seed and play at North Bullitt in the first round of the playoffs Nov. 14. The loser will be the No. 4 seed and play at Bullitt East in the first round. Why is the KHSAA allowing Western to even play?

Why is Atherton (4)? “Warriors (1-6, 1-2) into a third-place tie with Atherton (1-6, 1-2.” It’s obvious the coach knew the players and he was trying to pull a fast one. The Western players and the other teams in the district are going to suffer now. Why should Western be allowed to play in the Regional playoffs? Breckinridge County should be allowed to play in the playoffs because they didn't break any rules.

Is this correct IF Western has forfeit? (4) Larue County at (1) Fairdale/Valley winner (3) Marion County at (2) Fairdale/Valley loser (3) Western at (2) North Bullitt (4) Atherton at (1) Bullitt East If Atherton has to forfeit and Breckinridge County finishes in third place, how do they determine who gets forth place between Atherton and Western?

I agree Marion has approved over the past two years and lost a tough one to NB in the playoffs last year. This should be a very good game if both teams are at 100%. 70% chance of rain won't help the turnovers.
