Football practice in June
As I said, my school, does 2 days and has rings. Pointing out the opposite end of the spectrum would entail an example of a 5 day week and rings. I haven't heard you say who that is. When you say 48 points South Oldham springs to mind but I know you aren't that coach. He is on here and has a different name than you do. Going 2 days a week doesn't keep you from winning championships and doesn't keep kids from playing in college. You can't have a reply to that, it is just a fact.

Football practice in June
The fact that you think practicing 4-5 days a week in June has anything to do with giving up 48 points the 4th week of November tells me all I need to know.

Just because your coach did something one way and you WANT it to be right doesn't make it right. Here's what I suggest. Poll the state championship coaches from the last 5 years. Contact all of them. Ask what they do in June. I've already told you how 2 of them do it.

Ruh, Ruh, manly roaaar! As I said McKee is off the whole month of June. He has a 6a ring. He has multiple college players. My team practices 2 days a week in June for an hour and a half. We do NOT run shuttles, 40's, and practice verticals. We have rings, we have multiple college players.

You are trying to make this about college football? This is about HS teams. Having practice 4-5 days a week is a negative for college bound athletes. I'm not sure how many College athletes you have coached but they will be going to camps and going to off campus workout sites and playing in the summer 7-7 stuff if not playing baseball and basketball. We aren't taking anything away from a kid by not asking him to punch the clock 4-5 days a week in June. Jim McKee has been used as an example. He's doing all right. I have others if you need them.

But the manly men will still practice 4-5 days a week in June. 2 things will happen to 95% of them. A. The roster will be smaller and someone will pontificate on how todays kids are soft. B. In early to late November they will be free to go watch some playoff games and on the drive there they can talk about how they just need to practice more.

Is Freshman Football Dying?
The problem is that they aren't his players. They are athletes at the school.

They didn't LOSE the Russell sponsorship. The KHSAA voided the contract.

Is Freshman Football Dying?
To the OP. Yes Freshman football is very hard to pull off in the middle of 5a and down. There are random teams here and there. Out of lets say 192 football schools about 45 can field a freshman team every year. The answer below that is froshmore games where no juniors are allowed to play. Bowling Green had 109 kids on the roster last season but had to play 2 froshmore games because thats what the opponent had to do. It doesn't matter if you adamantly insist in playing a full freshman schedule. You have to have opponents too. Opponents close enough for a freshman weeknight travel. The 45 schools I spoke of are concentrated in a couple of areas not spread evenly in the state.

Is Freshman Football Dying?
The sky is falling! A. Coaches are getting out and not being replaced at the same speed. B. The game is evolving at a greater pace than ever and in KY Julian should get some credit for that. At many schools, anecdotally yes numbers are down. BUT C. Last season more kids played football in the state of Kentucky than ever in the history of the game.

I consider Armes a success so there you go, if that's true.

I'm not going to poo poo this hire because quite frankly people dont want to work for Roger. I do have a question. Give me an example of a middle school HC who has moved straight to hs HC and strung together 3-4 winning seasons at any point. Foley may become the first and that's cool but that's not happened yet.

Barren County 2017
Since 2003 Barrens on field production has them #153 in Ky out of 221 schools in Calpreps Dynasty list. So 68 programs below them.

Style of Play
They have a 240 pound running back and a 260 pound fullback on the field 90% of the time. FACT. I don't know who your team is or what they did to you but they are probably going to keep doing it, because they are physically imposing their will on all but 2 teams in the state. The entire offense is power and counter and plays to protect power and counter. FACT. We have been over this. You should probably argue with someone else.
-
Style of Play
Yeah, I know about your hatred of X. One of the most physical programs in the state of Kentucky. Lets ask their fans if they only get in spread formations.
-
Style of Play
Like I said earlier this team you hate is imaginary. Name 1 team and we will ask their fans if they do what you say.
-
Style of Play
Yeah, I know, and you think Belichick is an idiot when Brady is in empty on 3rd and 1 and throws a slant for a first down.
-
Style of Play
False. On 3rd and 1 they are both trying to win the pad level battle, win the gap, and move the LOS.
