The city doesn't want to pay overtime for someone to work on the fields on Saturday. Perhaps the city can solicit more donations like they did with the pool??? I've always wondered why more city tournament games aren't played there. Red would not be happy!

The main reason for Bellevue's current success isn't so much Coach Sanders (no offense coach, you're doing a good job) as it is because of two coaches that started a lot of this team in Knothole. Rick Buckler and Tim Hegge, both of which have a son (and a vested interest) on this team. They are great coaches who won't stand for a team not going out and giving everything they have on the field. I've seen these kids grow up on the diamond and by the time they're seniors it should be fun to watch them. Never underestimate the influence of a good Knothole Coach. Congrats guys!

Elliott. His stats SHOULD be posted, but they're not. Not a power hitter, but wow is this kid fun to watch! Oh yeah, he's not a bad pitcher either! He's the tie that binds Beechwood. He gets MY vote.

Absolutely! Hitters are taught from day one to stay in on a curveball. I've seen curveballs that just don't curve, and this is where a lot of hitters are surprised. In this case, all I need to see is the "slightest" of attempts to get out of the way. In the case of "leaning in", it should be called every time.

I think it would be a good idea to get all of the facts before berating umpires, they put up with enough as it is.

It's kind of sad that the Crazies have neglected the game of baseball (America's game) in the past Old Timer. Too many times at that great venue, you can hear the umpire call balls and strikes. It shouldn't be that QUIET! I'm certainly not a CovCath fan, but I'm thinking about going and rooting for the Colonels if it will be in a mass hysteria type setting. The energy alone should shake Male a bit. I hope to see some confirmation that the Seniors are willing to "step up to the plate" on this one. Why not Seniors from all over NKY. It's not just a CovCath thing, it could be a NKY thing. Let's bring the house down! Let's bring Male down with it!

I think Schulkens is a good coach. He has a lot of bb knowledgeable people around him as well. I think he has a tendency to feel as if he has to call all of the shots, all of the time, even when he has very capable coaches to help.

Affirmative, they haven't hosted a game this season. From what I hear, it may be ready in a couple of weeks.

Tyler Verst is a talented pitcher. He throws hard and works the corners. If he throws a first pitch strike, he's hard to beat. It will be a low scoring affair if he's on.

I saw Gohs get jammed inside by a curveball and put it out near the fence @ Champion Window Field, what a strong hitter. Definitely a sleeper.

OR22 You're right. I would say that about 95% of the time Blue gets it right. Us fans, players, and coaches are fortunate to have the quality that we do behind the plate and out on the bases. Tough calls have to go one way or the other and there's real men that have to make the calls. I wouldn't have wanted to make either "talked about" call from 3rd, they were both close. As it turned out, neither call was consequential to the game as Ryle wasn't done scoring in the seventh with one out anyway. It was one of the most exciting finishes I've seen in HS baseball.
