Gentlemen,

 

This coming Friday May 9th your Colonels will be playing Louisville Male at the Home of the Florence Freedom (Champion Window Field). This game will take place at 5pm.

 

Over the years the CovCath Crazies have shown the Commonwealth how to cheer and root on their teams at football and basketball games. No one will disagree that the Crazies are the best in the Commonwealth, and have been the best for years and years and dare I say years.

 

Seniors you have done an outstanding job continuing the tradition this your final year at CovCath, and you should be proud, however how about starting a new tradition, something that you can look back and say years and year from now "hey we were the first class to do it"!

 

What am I talking about, or getting to, well as I stated, CovCath is playing Male this Friday at a outstanding local ballpark, and I would like you seniors to get out and cheer on the Baseball Colonels just like you would the football or basketball teams. To my knowledge it has never been done by the Crazies or for that matter anyone else, so why not be the first to start a new tradition, and that is coming to a game and doing your stuff as a senior sendoff.

 

Seniors you could leave school, and then head to the ball park to have a huge tailgate party in the Freedom's parking lot, then enter the game in mass. Between innings you could do your thing, and my guess have a ball doing it for that one last time.

 

Guy's be the first in something! Start a new tradition, and start it Friday.

Sounds like a great idea. I hope they are listening. Florence Freedom Center is such a nice place and it is a real treat for high school kids to be able to play there. No doubt the crazies would have a great time and the team would love it.

I will most likely be working the games next weekend up in the pressbox and would LOVE to see more and more people show up for these kind of events. If there is a BUNCH of Colonel Crazies that come out to the game, I will try to get there early enough to try to get with them and give them a schedule of what songs I'll be playing in between innings.

 

I'm all for doing things that will make it a memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

 

I may even try to see if I can get the newest member of the Florence Freedom family, Belle, to show up and interact with everyone. She definitely loves it when the crowd is more involved.....LOL.

Male is up here all weekend they play Scott at Florence Freedom Saturaday.

I was told that Mark and the J-man are thinking of doing the game live on the CovCath Internet Radio Network, but as of this moment not really sure they are going to do it or not. I will find out tomorrow.

Does anyone know if Ryle's game against Male is also at the Freedom this weekend? Our schedule indicates it is being played at Ryle, but I'm now assuming it's being played at Freedom as are the other games.

Can't guarantee you that they will even show up, but I hope so! As was posted the CovCath fight song is an origional and I have no idea where to get a copy of it and really doubt there is even one to be had.

It's kind of sad that the Crazies have neglected the game of baseball (America's game) in the past Old Timer. Too many times at that great venue, you can hear the umpire call balls and strikes. It shouldn't be that QUIET!

 

I'm certainly not a CovCath fan, but I'm thinking about going and rooting for the Colonels if it will be in a mass hysteria type setting. The energy alone should shake Male a bit.

 

I hope to see some confirmation that the Seniors are willing to "step up to the plate" on this one. Why not Seniors from all over NKY. It's not just a CovCath thing, it could be a NKY thing. Let's bring the house down! Let's bring Male down with it!
