  1. Anyone that has anything bad to say to TOG obviously does not know him. You do not need to agree with his thoughts, but I can assure you that he is a great person with a passion for baseball.
  2. Back in the day, when I played softball, the trend was that the bats were getting so hot that they started to change the ball design to slow it down. I do not know if that is the right answer, just a thought.
  3. Maybe this will be a wake up call to the BCPWFL?:idunno: If they do nothing, then you will probably see Conner, Cooper and Boone Co follow Ryles footsteps. That would basically kill BCPWFL's Senior division.
  4. Would this be a Middle School program? Or would it be Starters, Midgets, Juniors and Seniors?
  5. I am with you on our area as a whole getting better. My daughter has played in the Boone Co Rec leauge for the past 4 years. The level of competition was not very high. This year she is playing summer ball in hopes that will benifit from better competition. More girls need to have the bar raised in order to make our area better.
  6. I was not bragging. I do not have a daughter on the team. My point was that just because a pitcher is an 8th grader does not mean that she is going to "walk, walk, walk" batters.
  7. I agree on all points. I do think that there are better times ahead for NDA softball.
  8. That is correct. I may not agree with their reasons, but I definetly respect their viewpoint. It is not as simple as it might sound. She is a solid pitcher that has alot of potential. She has the work ethic and desire to be the best that she can be.
  9. Why does having 8th graders pitching = walks, walks, walks. I have seen the 8th grader that pitches JV, and I can tell you that she is not a walk-fest. In fact, I believe that the JV is 5-1 including a win against Boone.
  10. Who was acting as Head Coach for St. Henry? And why?
  11. Feel free to post your impressions on how the game should be scored. Please do not knock TOG, as he puts a ton of time and effort into going to these games, scoring them and then posting about them on BGP. He is a self described homer for CovCath. He is also a HUGE fan of the game. He is more than fair with both teams when describing a game. If you do not like the way he sees it, then buy a book, go to the games, keep score, then go home and post about it on BGP. ..........That is what I thought.:walk:
  12. Does Home Depot or Lowes have it? If not, who does?
  13. Yes, the U12 Hawks played also. They did not play well. I believe they won 1 and lost 2. It is still early. I am sure that they will knock the rust off and rebound nicely. The last couple of years they have been a very strong team.
  14. The Ky Hawks U10 won the Quest for the Best at Rumpke this weekend. They won all 4 games, three of them coming from behind. Great start to the season for the Hawks!
  15. I had wondered if the schools with turf football/soccer fields would play fastpitch games on these fields. Can you fit a full fastpitch field on a football field? If the answer is yes, then what would be the possible drawbacks to this? Obviously a plus would be less rainouts.
  16. In general that is probably true. Every now and then there are exceptions to the rule. Maile and Isler come to mind as both not only played varsity as freshman but played alot. I am sure there are more examples where a freshman can play varsity.
  17. Twenhofel 6th grade girls hand Conner its first lost of the season. I was surprised to hear this. Conner walked through this season beating most(if not all) teams by double digits. Congatulations Twenhofel!!!
  18. I have no idea if what you say is true. I do know that all of IHM's teams struggle to get practice time due to limited gym time. My daughters 6th grade team had no more than 8 practices all year. If IHM's coach did this, I am sure that he was just trying to prepare for the next game. I would add that IHM has good kids and good basketball players also.
  19. My sons team came in second in a SWOL U9 Regional tournament last year. For finishing second, our SWOL leauge fees were covered for this year. That may not have been directly from SWOL, but from the host team of the tournament (Cincy Flames).
  20. And you want to critisize UK fans for being fanatics?:idunno:
  21. Does Isler fit in the equation anywhere? I have not seen him pitch but if he is anywhere close to his big brother then I would think he has a shot.:idunno:
