You are right about this. Of the 4 games the freshman, JV, and Varsity played Gallatin only won 3 of the 4.

It was a 3 point lead for SO with about 5 minutes left in the third period then Zac Jones was hit with his 3 and 4th foul in about a 1 minute stretch.

I just went to the first site the search engine took me to, believe me there were plenty more to back up my stance. You however went to the tourism site is that the best site to back up your argument? No really is it? The Derby Region is also a region on the map you brought up, is that really a region. I am going to have to teach my kids that their dad is clueless all these years I didn't know there was a Derby region. It is funny how when some people are wrong even when their facts are not really facts just a tourism map they try to make themselves look smarter by putting down someone elses information saying it is inferior. This is truly the last I am going to say about this, there are much more important things going on in the universe than to worry about this stuff.

Also on this map you might notice that Gallatin County is on the banks of the mighty Ohio making it a river county also. When I go away and someone ask me where I'm from I always say NKY. Your Link also has Gallatin in the Same Region as Boone, Kenton and Campbell. I hate to keep going on but geographically speaking Grant may not be on your map but it is much closer to NKY than Central Ky. This is just my take on it right or wrong.

Last Time I checked Boone Kenton and Campbell were in the bluegrass region also. I guess you NKY boys didn't know you were in central Kentucky according to theoldguys thinking. The tower in all likelihood is just a friendly reminder to all who travel one of the busiest sections of interstate that they are in the great Commonwealth of Kentucky also known as the Bluegrass State.

Are you kidding me? You play the game to win yes you do not play it to humiliate the other team. What your not thinking about is the team getting beat like this has their starters out so they probably have their second string in going against a press that the starters couldn't handle. The minds of some are clouded by the pollution of precieved success. BTW if I were coaching the other team getting beat I would call for my boys to grow a pair and take care of bussiness one way or another.

Walter if you read this whole post you would understand that this is a big state and considering it goes Boone then Gallatin yes I would say Gallatin is Northern Kentucky. From the Gallatin Co. line to the tip of Kenton Co. it is less than 30 miles. Gallatin is right on the river so there is no place to go farther in Kentucky without falling in the river and getting wet. As this post stated earlier geographically speaking Grant and Gallatin are considered NKY just not by the geographically challenged.

Over the past 5 years including this year Gallatin is 97-42 with 3 all A championships in that time with 3 regional apperancees with 1 quarterfinal finish and a region runner up. The current team is in the All A finals Saturday night. Coach Jones has well over 200 victories in his tenure at a very small rural school that is not afraid to take on the bigger teams. If that doesn't put him in the discussion nothing does.

I have never said one thing about a kid on this or any other forum and as I have said repeatedly if it was my kid getting bashed on here I would have a problem with it as would any normal parent.

It has been awhile for a regional championship for some of the smaller schools that you mentioned but if you gave some of those coaches the talent that some of the others have then it could be a different story. Just to base it on regional championships would leave out a lot of coaches on the list. For the smaller schools such as Brossart and Gallatin Co. they have become perennial All A contenders and winners. These two schools in particular are playing against schools with enrollment that is sometimes quadruple their size. If this doesn't show someone can coach I don't know what does. Another thing you mentioned was fan base have you ever been to a Gallatin Co. away game they travel better than a lot of big schools and have a rabid fan base.

Agreed FBD I rooted for Holmes last year in the state final and I am an 8th region fan. They were from my area and coach Henley is a good guy.

NKY I am not stupid just pointing out the fact that the 8th region coaches were dismissed because they were in the 8th and not the powerhouse 9th. geographically the whole area from Grant to Gallatin, Kenton Co. Boone and Campbell are all NKY. To dismiss any coach because of what region they are in is not geographically right.

Brossart wasn't considered NKY until they started winning a few games. Isn't Scott in the 10th also.

Gallatin Co. is only about 30 miles from Downtown Cin. That is why Jon Jones from a small School should be ranked right up there with the best.

Gritty game. Both teams played hard if not always smart. There were several big plays with none bigger than Travis Davis hitting 2 free throws with 2.8 seconds on the clock for the tie to send it in to overtime. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.
