From a coach??

When you get "really serious" about what your child needs to improve you begin to take it much better. It also has to come from someone who knows what they are talking about.

Why GatorFan, did someone say something to you?

Sorry couldn't resist

Yes they did but you just have to tell them what they want to hear! :thumb:

Actually something I said on here, but then I got to thinking the TRUTH hurts!

I think most parents can take constructive criticism from the right person. By the right person I mean someone who's opinion they asked for or respect. No one wants criticism from someone who is always negative and rarely, if ever, has a nice thing to say.

Actually something I said on here, but then I got to thinking the TRUTH hurts!

What if it was said about your child on here? The truth might hurt.

So be it then.

Mine gets it from me positive or negative.

Because they're parents! Tunnel vision?, Mama Bear?, you name it.

Are we talking about things said directly to a parent or things said on a message board?

I think that common sense should govern comments on a message board. It's easy to hid behind a made up name and say negative things about kids. I'd say that if someone really has something to say about a kid, find that child's parents in the stands after the game and ask them about it

there, rather than airing the issue on a message board.

If a coach wants parents to be parents then the coach should not talk about coaching issues with parents. If a coach wants a father to sit in the stands and cheer, then the coach should not seek his opinions on basketball.

What if it was said about your child on here? The truth might hurt.

Well, no parent wants to hear anything bad about their child. No matter who it comes from, that is why no parent can take constructed criticism. I am sure you wouldn't be able to take it either redcrossave.:idunno:
