Your School's All-Time Starting 5
Chris Jones was an awesome talent, It would be hard to include Humphrey in the top 5, not because he wasnt great but because he really only started two years of varsity and had to split playing time with Huddelston one year. No doubt Humphrey was a great one but all of the other top 5 pretty much started 3 years of varsity and accomplished a little bit more. IMO, Scott Humphrey is the second best middle man after Rick Hensley. Those two were the best PG EVER EVER EVER to play at Russell.

16th Region All Time Greats
Guys, calm down...I agree 100% with what you are saying. When I started the thread I only mentioned a few teams. Many teams and players were not mentioned for 2 reasons. 1. To allow other posters to mention their faves 2. Some I just dont know much about (Lawerance Co and Rowan)

Your thoughts on the ADI article on GCHS
Grant Traylor needs to be commended on writing this article, he has turn something very negative into a positive. It truly shows the character and resolve of these young men on the basketball team.

I am just curious, who else was on that team...was Coach Reed's daughter playing back then?

16th Region All Time Greats
Animosity? You must be kidding!! This is a forum where people state their opinions. For the millionth time I said she was not in MY top 10. Put her where you want on your list. And since it was mentioned that she left the region i wouldn't qualify her for this thread anyway.

16th Region All Time Greats
Once again a difference of opinion. Kevin Walls averaged 45 points a game in High School and was offered a scholarship at the University of Louisville. He never done anything at Louisville. Point being made is that just because UK offered her a scholarship doesnt mean much. Joe B. Hall gave scholarships to Chris Gettlefinger and Bo Lantern as well. Like I said before, she was very good but not in my top ten. Note (Not to take away from her accomplishments by no means) but she played at a time when the region was a little down from top to bottom.

16th Region All Time Greats
Well she is definitely, the best to come out of East. But once again it is just my opinion of all time greats. Never said she wasnt good, just not in my top ten. We have many today that plays the game with more atheticism then Kasi. Seals and Queen just to name a few.

16th Region All Time Greats
Is 30 years not long enough? I never judged her, all I asked was where she ended up playing college ball at. I heard once that UK was wanting her then I didnt hear anything else. And what do you mean that this message is from the heart? IMO, she still would not be in my top 10 ever in this region, regardless of her life on the court or off from the court or whether she ever played college ball or not. Potentially, she was one of the best but IMO she never acheived her potential, as so did not many others

16th Region All Time Greats
I'm not passing judgement on her! You have your opinion and I have mine. I think she was a good player but not in my top list of this region. Queen and K.Faulkner were better than her. Jennifer Swann IMO was more valuable than her (not a better scorer). You are thinking that I think she wasnt any good, I never said that. She peaked early regardless of her scoring ability. She was good but not in my top ten or top 15, top 20? Yes! I have been watching girls play in this region for almost 30 years. The most talented player I have seen, inch for inch and pound for pound is Emily Queen, followed by Marla Gearheart, then probably Pam Stanfield of Russell. No doubt Kasi ranks up there when it comes to talent but thats another thread. Not this one.

16th Region All Time Greats
Her best years was her 6th grade year at Fairview and when she took Boyd to state. She is not the best to ever play in this area. Statistics arent everything. My goodness, I know guys that were good but played on bad teams against bad teams, and had monster games in scoring...what does that prove? When someone scores 45 or 60 against Ironton St. Joe what does that prove, when they can only manage 13 or 14 against a really good team. I guess we ought to rate Kasi right up there with OJ

16th Region All Time Greats
There is a difference bewtween being a great player and a leading scorer. No doubt about it she was better than most but I could say the same about Bernard King who played for the New York Nicks in the early 80's. He led the his team in scoring, led the NBA in scoring but he is not considered to be in the NBA top 25. Just because someone can score doesnt make them great. There are those that does score and are great because they make everyone else around them better. Where did she end up playing college ball at?

16th Region All Time Greats
She was okay, other than the fact she had a major weakness in that she could night go to her right and shoot, and that she pretty much peaked out by her Freshman year. But having said all of that, she would be in my top 25 All Time Greats from the 16th Region.

I have searched frantically for that video tape so that I could comment on it. But I will make no such comment seeing that I have never viewed the footage of OJ being "T" up. He was acting normal just being himself. If Steven Seagal is not Above the Law then OJ should'nt be either.

Rose Hill 74 LCA 71
It was good to see Dakota playing inside out. If he keeps banging and playing more physical and aggresive underneath then RH will be in the hunt, if he stays on the three point line all game then it will be a very short tournament. By starting out under the basket, it is harder to guard him. And it will also free him up more to shoot the three. The Young Guns looked very impressive in spurts, but need another ball handler besides Chad. Anytime you are being pressed full court you want to move the ball up the court and hopefully be moving it to the middle of the court. RH at times (Not a lot but a few times) moved the ball backwards, almost passing the ball underneath the other teams basket just to get the ball to Chad, that is a very dangerous pass to make. The other guards must step up their ballhandling and take care of the ball. Over all, IMO, RH played a great game and withstood the run by LCA late in the game. Fraley has the Young Guns playing aggresive Defense. I cant wait til tourney time.

Did OJ set any scoring records on the 16th Regional Tournament? Mike Helton did and probably still holds them.

Hey I am not saying that they arent any good, all I am saying is that it will be a different story in the Pros. You love him so much you should start now and maybe when he is dominating in the NBA, you can be his sports agent. I am sure he will be making gatorade commercials...ha ha, just joking with you. Dont take it personally. You mean to tell me when Frank Lee played against Ashland it was weak Competetion?
