  1. Gill proved he can score too if given the opportunities. I heard that his vertical is very impressive. The best leaper hands down that I have ever seen is Doug Smith...guessing probably in the mid 40's (inches not his age). He played Volleyball at Ashland from around 75-78 in that era, never played basketball at Ashland, had a brother that played from 83-85 named David Smith. Anyways I personally witnessed Doug hang on the bottom of the jogging track one night at the YMCA back in the early 80's. I heard Gill can fly as well. Best dunkers and leapers now thats a thread to start, go ahead Dinoradja and start one and no reminiscing about dunks at Dreamland swimming pool......
  2. Russell if no "T's" are called on them.
  3. Since my hands have been tied, it has allowed me to do a lot of thinking which is always a little bit scary. Here is my prediction about Russell Boys even without the almighty Hoose Caboose. Here goes, UKCATSFAN, if Russell can manage not to get any "T's", for say like, wrong score book or something that is a simple mistake or might have been overlooked. Lets just say if Russell can play most of the game and not go into the 4th quarter being "T" then they might have a chance of winning. I would hate to think that there is a conspiracy to sabotage the Russell Boys, but who in their right mind would do such a thing? Answer: Only those with a grudge or bitterness. So having typed all of that, my life partner untied me by the way so now I can type, anyways I was wondering if you (UKCATSFAN) know anything about the "T" Russell was assessed the other night prior to the game?
  4. He is the only one that I know but there may be more. Your turn, and dont make it to hard....Alex I'll take Coaches names that start with H's for 200.
  5. What coach in the 16th Region has both won as a player and coached a region championship? This could be a trick question? Coached Girls Varsity
  6. Is there anyway you could PM a list of past Region winners for Girls and Boys. I just need the year and team not the coach. I am guessing that you have access to a sports history file that I do not. ha ha
  7. Connie Green from Ashland? Anna Chaffin from Russell? Big Bubbette from Buffett? Let us know when someone gets it right
  8. As I stated on another thread, without the services of Jon Vanhoose Russell is two and out.
  9. Just to clear the air, I never said that Skaggs was the best to come out of this area, I was just using him to compare and contrast things, and I do believe that Vanhoose is a very good player, top ten at Russell but not my top five. My comments are not a slam to Jon Vanhoose like some have taken it to be-comparing him to Robert Harris was an inside joke between me and DinoRadja. I will say this that you are correct about Ashland and maybe Russell also that there are so many great players to come out of these schools that it would be hard to limit it to a Top Five only.
  10. geesh, don't take it so personally. It's a little thing called sarcasm.
  11. I would compare him to a young Robert Harris, not his jumping ability or quickness but in the fact they both have two arms and two legs...ha ha
  12. Where have you been and what has taken you so long to jump onto this thread. We have missed your Darth Vader like presence
  13. MSU seems to be picking up where Wireman left off.:sssh:
  14. Dont leave me for another thread
  15. Looks isnt everything so I went into Comedy
  16. 27, oohh thats impressive I thought it was 24. My bad, thanks for clearing that grade school score up for me.
  17. You must be mistaken because about three weeks ago my jaw was wired shut.
  18. Jeff Sisler was his name, and I concur that Hoose is a lot better than he was.
  19. Dude you shouldnt have revealed who you are, everyone knows Brock.
  20. I know that Hensley went in 72. I am not sure about about Sydnestricker and Roberts, but I agree with DinoRadja, the level of play is not anywhere near the same as it was when those guys played. The five I mentioned would have dominated this watered down, not even close in talent wise region that these kids are playing in today. You seem like a Russell History major, so how many of my top five went to state? You and many others from Ashland has went to Russell and I have seen many from Russell become Ashlanders. Wonder why that it is? Ashland has often been called Russell East, no wonder you are a perfect fit
  21. How many points did they score last year at Rupp with Vanhoose????
