Clay vs LexCath Predictions
rojas4 replied to supertrooper's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Lex Cath by 18 or 20. The 11th region is a different type of basketball. -
Did Brown leave Bourbon with anything when he left for Henry Clay?

Scott County-Huntington High School Revisited
rojas4 replied to scooterbob's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I can't imagine Billy Hicks coaching any game for "entertainment value". If he were coaching a high school team against the Miami Heat he would not only try to win the game but convince himself and anyone that would listen to him that his team had a good chance. Also, he is not going to "pack it inside" on anybody either. The HHS players looked very surprised that SC come out and pressed and trapped them. -
Poll, Who will win the 11th Region?
rojas4 replied to Gumbo Daddy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Westsider is right on the money. While Bryan Station, Henry Clay, or Scott Co may have to beat 5 top 25 teams to get to the Sweet 16. Teams like South Laurel and Warren Central can breeze right through without playing a top 25 team until they get to Lexington. -

Poll, Who will win the 11th Region?
rojas4 replied to Gumbo Daddy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Scott Co won the 8th in 2004 I think. If I remember right they went to the state final four that year. If I am counting correctly, after Hicks arrived in Scott Co for the 94/95 season SC won the 8th region 6 out of 11 years. I would guess that SC would much rather be in the 8th than the 11th. -

Scott Co has the best team. Madison Central has the best odds because they have a cake walk to the regional. Bryan Station can beat anyone in the state. -

New Coach at Harlan County
rojas4 replied to Youth Coach's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I have heard Hicks say he would like to build one more program before he retires. I have also heard his wife say she aint going back. Guys, the fellow who makes the decision is Jones' brother in law. My guess is that if Jones wants it he will get it. I do know that Billy came fairly close to taking the Corbin job a few years back. -

The HHS called several timeouts throughout the game. As of now OJ will not play for the next two weeks, which includes the SC game. -
2/6/07 Bryan Station @ Scott County

I didn't know about the forfeit. That would make West Jessimine in 03 the last team to beat SC in Georgetown. -
Scott Co. v/s Bryan Station - weather concerns
rojas4 replied to Hoops Yoda's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Wow. What a scheduling nightmare for Scott County. Three district games in three consecutive nights. Bryan Station at home Thursday, Henry Clay on the road Friday, and Sayre Saturday. Might help prepare them for the tournament. Don't be surprised if SC doesn't get upset either Thurs or Fri. -

I think your Knights may have been the last team to come out of G'town with a win. That was during the D. Green senior season. -
Johnson Central Coach Starns resigns?
rojas4 replied to Bandit29's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
A good coach would have to be an idiot or pretty desperate to go to Greenup. -
Catzrule, like KHSB1 said, you can't reason with ignorance. RebBlood should be ignored. Its a jealousy thing with him.

If the refs hosed Huntington they didn't do a very good job of it. Both teams had shot 10 free throws until Huntington started putting SC on the line to stop the clock with a minute to go. I can think of a an obvious goal tending against Patterson that was uncalled. If they were homering HHS why wouldn't they make this obvious call? Let's don't try to make this into something it wasn't. Scott was the better TEAM Friday night. It may be different in two weeks and may not be, but Friday night SC whipped HHS from tip off to buzzer.

I think the last time a Ky team knocked off a #1 team was 86 when Lafayette beat Marion Indiana.

I wrong again. SC leads WJ by 28 with 3:13 to go in the 3rd. SC played 11 players in the first half. -

I have been saying the same thing all day. I predict a let down today and maybe Tuesday as well. I predict SC by 12 over WJ tonight. -
I agree.

I don't think Huntington High School had the #1 ranked team in the USA during the Vanhoose years at Paintsville.
-
don't be surprised if SC doesn't get them again. SC looked the better TEAM lasat night.
