  1. Correct pools are at the top of the page. The pools from last year are near the bottom. Looks like NCC gets a favorable draw and can go far in the Gold bracket. Maybe a tough test from Marshall Cty in round 2 of the Gold. They were pretty good last year and not sure what they still have. Then NCC could go up against Greenwood. They were tough last year as well, but I think they had a lot of seniors, like NCC.
  2. The brackets are online for the Bluegrass State Games beginning July 31st in Lexington. They are at the link below. Looks like some quality teams are taking part. http://www.bgsg.org/volleyball/ Who are the favorites??
  3. Sure, but I was referring to no seniors were on the team last year. But, they did lose two incoming seniors that decided not to play this year. But, SK still retains their club team that played together in the spring. I am pretty sure they will have 4 seniors on the team with a quality group of Juniors playing as well.
  4. That, in fact, is a good question why they decided not to play this year.
  5. They had one Senior who started the season and quit the team after about three matches.
  6. No, just that she is a hitter.
  7. 1)Highlands 2)NCC 3)Campbell 4)Brossart 5-10 pick em
  8. I heard over the spring that Ryle had a pretty strong hitter transferring in out of Atlanta. She played for a respectible club down that way named Tsunami.
  9. 1) NDA - reload and do it again 2) St Henry - Fortner and always reload 3) Scott - Big up front 4) Simon Kenton - Lost no Srs. and play together as a club team 5) Ryle - Good coach and young talent 6) Beechwood - Will be good after last years disappointment 7) Holy Cross - Strong Sophmore, but I forget the name 8) Boone - Rebuilding year, new coach 9) Villa - 10) Conner
  10. How do you see it shaking out this season? What would be your top ten? Are many NKY teams competing at the Bluegrass Games this year?
  11. Her NKYVC team will be playing locally this weekend in the NKJV Aces Challenge at Mt St Joseph. Should be some nice teams and quality competition at the Mount.
  12. No doubt, Kathryn Smith of SK. She is getting some D1's interest.
  13. Simon Kenton still has a opening. Another change at head coach coming. They have a massive amount of talent coming back next year with current Sophmores and Juniors. A good coach will inherit a nice team and a good crop of younger players who are involved in the Kenton Volleyball Club that is a feeder for SK.
  14. She plays high school ball at Scott High and club for (i think) NKYVC.
  15. Great news out of Taylor Mill! Sophmore Lauren O'Connor has orally committed to play college volleyball for currently #18 ranked Kentucky when she graduates. I know her family has to be ecstatic. At 6'3" and a sophmore she has alot of potential.:ylsuper:
  16. Tuesday Boone vs Beechwood St Henry vs Simon Kenton Wednesday Notre Dame vs Lloyd Scott vs Ryle All games will be played at Scott High School beginning at 6pm.
  17. Simon Kenton is planning on fielding a team.
  18. SK is going to begin a boys school "club" level team that will compete against other schools in the spring. However, it will not be sanctioned by the khsaa. Hoepfully, this will build interest and more will want to see it played competitively throughout KY. This will be just a pick up game. The players have to buy a pick tshirt in order to be able to participate in the game. I know that it has been talked up pretty much and there will be some interested eyes watching.
  19. Saturday will feature Simon Kenton at Boone County for a tri-match benefiting the Volley For The Cure. The freshman begin at 5pm followed by the JV and Varsity. Plans are for a boys game to be played by both schools between the JV and Varsity match. That should be interesting. Everyone is asked to wear pink. The two Vball teams will be selling tshirts and having raffles at the Boone/SK football game in Independence tonight. Simon Kenton defeated Boone earlier in the season druing a tournament. Surely, Boone will be out for revenge. It will be a best 3 of 5 match.
  20. Does not the 35th District seed? I think the 34th does. Makes for a weak team coming out of the 35th that will make the regional. Too bad for Highlands. They are having a great season.
  21. They should be posted on khsaa website... http://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/khsaa/kyvb08/tournament_83034 34th district will be at Holmes Monday: Calvary vs Holmes winner to face Scott on Tuesday Tuesday: Simon Kenton vs Holy Cross (Cov) Wednesday: Championship will be Scott winner vs SK/HC winner
  22. Boone, playing really well right now, was to play Greenwood in the championship today. Not sure of the outcome.
