  1. Scott Co takes all of June off. They’ve been doing it for years. After school gets out they don’t see the players until the dead period is over.
  2. I guess I should of been more specific in my question. All the different coaches associations in the state be it regional or statewide have someone elected in charge. I guess a better way to of asked my question is who is the president of the NKY coaches association?
  3. Who is in charge of the NKY football coaches association?
  4. Can’t do it. You have to be officially enrolled to practice. I am guessing you mean a kid that is not yet an official student of, in this case, Carroll county. It also kind of depends on what you call a practice. So a rising freshman would not be enrolled in the HS yet. They could do certain activities that some might consider practice even though it’s not really practice. Now if you are referring to a HS student taking part in activities but who is not officially enrolled then that is pretty much a no go.
  5. I had heard of possibly spin-offs 1-3. I was really hoping for 1. I think you’re right that it might of been too much. It will be interesting if that pilot ever leaks though it will be too short to give anyone a real feel. Sadly I think we’ll never get that information from what that series was going to be. I just personally find the north and that part of the lore more interesting. There is from what I hear some bits and pieces in the books. The original GoT pilot had to be reshot and I believe some roles recast. I’ve never read the books but they did a pretty amazing job casting the show.
  6. Yes I am. Just watched the new trailer for August 21. I would of preferred them explore more about the White Walkers and that time frame. I’m still excited to see how this goes.
  7. Since all those schools are part of the JCPS I don’t think it will affect them. Now if a kid who lives on the edge of Jefferson county (who lives in the JCPS area) decided to go to a neighboring county school because it was closer or whatever reason then that player would sit. It would basically work how it does now for districts with open enrollment within the district’s schools.
  8. The Principal is Bob Redman’s daughter? What position does his son play?
  9. I think they are ok because they live inside both districts.
  10. Has he been coaching any place recently?
  11. What can you tell us about Coach Oldham?
  12. The more I think about the more I believe this is how it will work with private schools. Private schools fall into pretty much two groups. Catholic schools or non Catholic schools. The Catholic schools will say that the student is moving from one in district school to another In district school without a change of address because the student lives in the diocese. Diocese appear to be fairly large areas. Non Catholic schools will pretty much claim that the whole state is their district because most don’t have boundaries as along as the student can make it to school. So in their case a student is moving from one district school to another in district school. The problem I believe is when you transfer to a school that has open boundaries. I’m just going to use Beechwood as an example because I believe you can attend there if you are out of district assuming you meet all the criteria. Criteria being financially you can pay any fees that may be required and meet any student standards (not a discipline problem etc). So if you live in Boone but not the Beechwood school district and you transfer you will have to sit. You are moving from a district school to a non district school.
  13. Maybe I am reading this incorrectly. I am reading this as if I transfer to a school in which I don’t live in that district I have to sit. So schools that accept students from outside their borders would be affected by this. If I move (from Indiana, Ohio or from wherever) and I move into a new district that becomes the district of residency. In that case I don’t have to sit due to this. That is how I am currently reading it.
  14. So if you move and thus change schools (assuming the district changed) you are good. If you don’t move and just change schools you sit. Is that correct? How does this affect private schools?
  15. This is not meant to come across as argumentative. I agree there are a lot of programs that do an excellent job developing and promoting their athletes. There are a little over 200 schools that play football I believe. So how do we determine what a majority is? Douglas is one of the best programs at promoting their athletes. Many in the state have noticed and have begun to copy their methods. They take a very hands on approach to it. They also produce top level graphics, videos, and are very good with social media. They have developed a number of very good relationships with colleges, especially big name D1 schools. Athletic development is something else they do extremely well. They have one of the top S&C coaches in the state. Most programs don’t even have a true S&C coach. They have a top level weight room that was patterned after SEC schools. They do a number of more modern approaches to development and injury prevention. Either Lexington has had an uptick in talent or Douglas has found a way to tap into that talent, develop and promote it. People see the talent and act as if it just showed up. That they are just rolling out the ball there. The success they’ve had is yes due to talent but also to all the other things they do. Believe it or not not everyone could walk through those doors and do what the staff has done.
  16. It’s still not posted anywhere (the job that is). It sounds like the HC is no longer the HC
  17. The petition was to keep the current/recently let go/whatever is going on coach.
  18. From my understanding the job is in fact open. Now why it isn’t posted is another good question. It looks like the HC was well liked by the players which could make whoever replaces him have a tougher time.
  19. The whole thing from what I’ve pieced together is really strange. When I first heard it was a possibility I created the thread about it. There were all kinds of Facebook posts making it sound like he was no longer the HC. In one of those post was the petition. From the ones speaking out it also appeared that this wasn’t a very popular decision. Now who knows what’s going on. Maybe he was never officially let go. Maybe they did a 180 on the decision. Maybe they already knew who they wanted to replace him with and they are going about it in a strange way. Recently as a program they’ve been kind of interesting. For a 2A school they have pretty good numbers (40-50 kids). They have pretty good athletes. Their facilities are at least above average with turf and indoor practice area. They at least appear to have decent community support. The district is favorable and until they switched to sister districts one would have a home playoff game with a chance to go three rounds deep. So from the outside in things look good. Then this , whatever this is, happens and it throws up all kinds of red flags.
  20. This appears to have been going on for the past two weeks or so. It just never appeared to be openly certain. Good luck to Coach Franklin wherever he lands. Strangely it’s not posted on the district website.
  21. I looked them up. It looks like unbalanced single wing.
  22. From the looks of some posts on Facebook it appears that Carroll Co might be open.
  23. 1300.00 just to have a game now. More if you can’t find gate workers and have to pay for them.
  24. I never heard really why they wanted a change. Was someone not a fan of gun option? I don’t remember if they ran some gun triple but they definitely ran gun option stuff. A little bit of the old Confusion defense too.
