Sorry ,do not see beating Holy Cross a SECOND time is an upset .Beechwood beat them earlier this year in the All A tourney .I would however say beating Cov Cath ,this first time ,would be an upset .Could be hard to beat a good team the third time

Kind of surprised Dunbar stayed at 2 .They lost there first games (2) of the year in the last couple weeks .

Soph SS David Combs hit the 2 for Bellevue .1 was to rc ,if you know anything about that field ,it is a long way.Congrats to the Tigers and David

May have to agree .He did it again vs Holy Cross in a district seeding game Thusday night .Pitched remarkable to shut down the Indians again . Another name being overshadowed by Elliott would be Brady Slusher .A sophmore who is quietly putting together a very good year

Elliott does it again on the mound . They tried to get through the 7th with the soph who pitched well vs Indians in the Doc Morris but had to bring him back in to close it .I would like to know what his ERA is .I think his only loss is to Dunbar where errors cost the Tigers 5 unearned enroute to a 5-1 loss at Dunbar . They have to have the youngest L/U in the state with a above .500 record .Playing 8th graders ,freshman and sophs on a regular basis along with the very good JRS. :thumb:

Good win for the Tigers .Winning ugly is still winning .Seems they are playing better which is the right thing to do at this time of year .Some big wins of late . Beechwood throws 2 sophs and a freshman ,along with a 8th grader at 2nd base who also contributed at the plate . :thumb:

May 12 vs S Laurel and both games May 19 will be the best time to see her vs quality teams .The May 17th vs Boone could be IF Boone plays the way they are capable .THEY HAVE TO LEARN TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS .

Good Luck Coach Sanders and the Tigers .Does not look impossible with the way they are starting to play .Looks like the atmosphere is changing for the good .

Mr.Bertke should be starting in the infield for at least a week or two with the injury bug biting the Tigers yet again .It seems as though they will not miss a beat . With the All A this weekend he may get another start on the mound ,Vs Holmes again maybe ? :thumb:

Why does the post keep listing Elliott as a senior ? He is a junior . That little 8th grader you refer to had a huge game vs .Williamstown on Tuesday . Something like 3 or 4 hits and 6 rbi's .Including a double to left center which is 400 ' .Told it would of been gone in a normal field od more to left . Congrats Tigers and The Little Guy !!

Heard tonight district tourney for 35 was being moved up or something .Now teams have to get the seeding games in late this week or early next week .I do not have all the details .Was wondering if this is true ? Also, is this going on in other disticts ? Could this be something the 35 host is doing ( dare I say ) to try to avoid facing Elliott ? The teams may be thinking he will throw in the All A state tourney .Who is the 35 host this year ? THIS IS MY SPECULATION .JUST THOUGHT I WOULD THROW IT OUT THERE !! WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OR INSIGHT ?

How far and how high is the fence there ? My daughter said she it 3 off it this weekend .1 being off the very top that would have tied the game in the last inning . I was unable to go and was curious. Thanks in advance.

Spotting the Bulldogs 7 in the first proved to be too much for the Tigers vs the top ranked team in the state .With yet an even younger l/u than the first game the Tigers did not give up .Soph Smith pitched 5 innings I think before being relieved by a few guys to close it out .Smith held the dogs scoreless for 4 innings after the first . If we could have taken the first inning away I wonder what would have happened .The tigers out scored them 4-3 the rest of the way .I do understand you call the dogs off so to speak though with a good lead .8TH grader Leeke was 2-3 with an rbi and an almost incredible catch in right center field at the fence .The Male players watching thought it may have been gone had he not barely got a glove on it . All in all not a bad day for the Tigers !! Keep working hard boys !! :thumb:

I've been with her all along, and I'm still awed when I look at her stats," Ryle Coach Bill Matteoli said. Maybe with her in high school .I know the guy who got her started in rec when they first went ot fast-pitch in No.Ky. She has been this since the beginning .She had amazing control and threw somewhat hard from the start .Her mother took her training to new heights at home which you have to do .You can't get that good at a rec practice once or twice a week . BTW , her mother is in the Hall Of Fame at Kansas State U. --for softball .

IMO, throwing that hard with a slight control problem is no problem .If she is not walking alot this only keeps the other team on edge .The fear of the batter being hit works for her .I have seen this happen for 6 years ,watching 2 young ladies who throw very hard .The last 2 - 3 years they have had better control ,but the early days were interesting .Even had 1 coach threaten to pull his team off the field if I did not change pitchers .Told him go ahead it's a loss for you .
