  1. As far as I know it is at Lafayette. You usually hear of these things first openyon.
  2. I am going with the Generals who will win big this time... Lafayette 55 Woodford County 14
  3. I couldn't agree more. Henry Clay will win but it is going to be close. Henry Clay 35 Scott County 24
  4. As usual, this game came down the the final minute. Congats to Lafayette players and coaches on a perfect 10 this season. Good Luck in the playoffs!
  5. I know that most guys feel cheerleading is stricktly to support the boys...it isn't. Of course one of the jobs a cheerleader does is promote school spirit and offer encouragement to the players. However, cheerleading is a very strenous and highly competitive sport on its own. These girls, while tirelessly and sometimes thanklessly jump up and down for the players, must compete in their own venue. Why would someone be upset if they missed a game to actually do what the squad is formed to do? These girls participate in their own sport and do not require money from the football program to sustain it. I have never heard of a cheer squad wanting or needing money from the football boosters. And to answer your question, their raison detre is to cheer...for the boys or for themselves.
  6. It seems to come down to the last second with these two teams...that is what makes it such a great game!
  7. As a former cheerleader, I disagree that the girls do not want to be there. I think the girls really respect the game and the players on the field. I can't think of a single girl though who really wants to get hit by a running back going full speed, so they might give him a look! Just take them for what they are, an entertaining and traditional part of the game! I really don't think there is a cheerleader in the state demading anything from the football teams. They are just doing what they do best...Cheer!
  8. I am not sure. Some programs do not consider cheerleading athletics but an activity. This is completely wrong since cheerleading is a very demading sport. If I am not mistaken, these kids are self sufficient with their own fundraising projects.
  9. You are right openyon, game is at Henry Clay. You found that out quick! Good Luck to both of these teams.
  10. No. The cheerleaders actually knowing about the game! I am sure that some girls know very little, but actually, most females are very knowledgeable about the game.
  11. Bruise their reproductive organs??? Come on Camel...I am not saying these girls should be on the line, but a skill position like kicker is appropriate. Plus her record is awesome.
  12. Its a home game for Lafayette but it will be held at Henry Clay.
  13. I have seen both teams and both have some really strong points, however, I am going with Bryan Station on this one 21-7.
  14. I feel the best game to watch will be Lafayette vs. Scott County, however, the most telling game in the district will be Woodford vs. Tates Creek. This game determines the #4 seed so I look for some action there.
  15. From what I understand, they are hoping for some assistance. There were pictures posted of the field completely underwater the last hard rain we had. It would be a shame to have Lafayette not only hold their Homecoming on another field (Woodford game), but also their Senior night (Scott County game) any place other than home.
  16. I don't dispute they have not "run it up", but they have played their skilled position starters almost exclusively. Wouldn't you? They play what they have to to win. Period.
  17. Maybe so...but out of the three losses that Henry Clay has, two were handed to them by Lafayette. Just a thought...
  18. I don't think anyone will know anything until game day. However, I think Creek has a pretty good backup. I think Sparks will pull through.
  19. You are right, the field is terrible when it rains. However, don't be suprised if this game is moved. The forcast is rain.
  20. Tates Creek 28 Woodford County 14 Willoughby will have his kids ready for this one. Tates Creek is a solid football team that is well coached. Big win to put them in the playoffs!
  21. I thought Scott County was ranked higher than Lafayette in most polls. Would it be considered an upset?
