  1. Congrats Devils. Good luck against Belfry.
  2. How about PITT's punt return? I thought it could be one of the most exciting plays of the year, the initial block was devastating.
  3. Was Coach Knight wrong with the hit to the chin of his player. The kid says there was nothing wrong with it, and the Coach feels the same way.
  4. I've always heard that Belfry is one of the toughest places in the state to play, especially in the post season. I say Belfry wins and goes on to meet Russell. Belfry 28 Middlesboro 13
  5. Wasn't it in the Arizona Chicago game where TK said something like "If Arizona loses this game now, they should just close the stadium and discontinue the franchise"? Well, they lost. The TK thing reminds me of a few years ago when they added the comedian to the broadcast booth. I think his name was Dennis Miller. That didn't last long. Hopefully this won't either.
  6. I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I say MNF isn't what it used to be. Seems to me Tony Kornheiser wants to turn it into another ESPN talk show. I think two commentators is plenty, these guys seem to just mouth off for the whole game. Bring back Al and John!
  7. Estill County Engineers (railroad town)
  8. He can still play all the sports he wants to and lift. There will be downtime between sports to really push it hard too. I would never discourage a kid from playing all three. I was a two sport athlete, and that was because I just didn't enjoy baseball. If he is the type of kid to work all year round and not get burned out, I say go for it. It will only help him in all sports, IMO.
  9. Before the season started we were looking for good things from Estill, especially after an 0-10 season last year. The losses kept coming, and after a few games nobody expected Estill to win a game again this year. But the kids rallied and won the last 3 out of 4. So I would say we exceeded expectations of many, but others would have liked to had a better season.
  10. I am fired up about seeing the results. We are about 10 years behind most other schools because it took us so long to get the youth league going
  11. Estill handed Russell one of their few losses ever in the current district in 2003. Under the playoff brackets for this year, they would have played each other in the first round (Russell 1 seed, Estill 4). Would Estill have put Russell out in the first round, or would Russell have shaken off the initial beating and put the Engineers out?
  12. Maybe too many teams do go to the playoffs, but coming from a small school I like the idea of giving the lower seeds a chance. What I don't agree with is the first two rounds being played in your own district. This brings the long bus trips back into discussion, but I myself always liked playing a team I hadn't already played in the regular season.
  13. There are twenty four in the eight grade alone. The seventh grade had 23 or 24 as well. There is also a very strong running back in the seventh. Him combined with the other two in the eighth grade could be tough to stop down the road.
  14. Who is the winner of this game looking at playing? I am unfamiliar with this new playoff system, wil the second round be played out of your own district?
  15. This group of kids is the first to come all the way through our youth league, I'm hoping that will have a positive effect and get more kids out their freshman year.
  16. Fleming will be too much and move on to the second round.
  17. The eighth grade finished with 24 kids. They were 4-3, but came close in every game they played. They like to hit, and have two kids that will be tough to stop running the ball in that double wing. The most difficult part will be getting the kids to play next year. Seems like several drop off between 8th-9th grade.
  18. Congrats to the Bulldogs. This tough schedule and ending on a win will only help them next season.
