  1. I've seen both teams play this year...I'll say Ryle by two td's.
  2. Who is Henry in a district with?
  3. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sound negative. When half the team quits because they have to run a few sprints or do a few up-downs, is there really any other way to look at it than laziness? I'm not talking about the kids that are playing other sports. I don't, however, understand the thinking behind playing only one sport. I think a kid should be involved in as many school activities as possible, but like you said, that's their business.
  4. Are people going back and forth at each other, or are they having a discussion? It looks like a discussion to me... As for only having 19 kids, from what I understand, is from complete laziness from most of the young men at PC, not the coaching staff. I also hear that the middle school program is off and running, and that there is a really positive attitude down there. That can only help.
  5. That is a horrible comparison!!!
  6. Right, I agree that a kid shouldn't make that hit, but all the same, kids are taught to "hit to the whistle" and it was a clean hit...I just think that is a rule in football that needs to be looked at.
  7. The penalty was called on a completly clean hit that took place 10 yards behind the ball carrier...a rediculous call.
  8. I don't believe that there are very many high school girls that can compete, but if they want to give it a shot, more power to them.
  9. Is this kid new?
  10. Coach? I'm not a coach. I'm just a long time fan of high school football. Attendance dropped because a little bit of discipline was put in place where there was not any in the past. I do support the team and I also support the coaching staff. How about you make the effort to do the same and quit doing your best to run them into the ground. It's negativity like yours about your kid's coaches that make a lot of them not want to play in the first place. Let the kids make their own decisions...
  11. Certain players have had solid winters in the weight room. Most of this year's senior class and maybe a junior or two were dedicated in the weight room, but you can tell that there's a huge gap between them and the rest of PC's players strength wise. So, no, as a team they were not having solid winters in the weight room. As far as losing players to other sports goes, it happens. It seems to happen here more because there is a lack of dedication. Football is a rough sport and a time consuming sport. Kids there don't realize yet that putting in the time and effort is the only way to be successful at this game. They are on the right path. The injuries comeback again to the lack of strength. It had nothing to do with conditioning. I'm quite sure these kids were in much better shape this year than they had been in the past. I believe that once the interest for the sport grows, you'll begin to quit having problems with keeping players for what ever reason.
  12. PC coaching staff: Don't worry about people (probably parents) that don't know what they're talking about. The people that matter know you guys are working hard to get things turned around and we think you are doing a great job!!
  13. They aren't staying around because kids in this area have no sense of committment at this time. They don't know what it takes to be a good football player or what it takes to make a good team. Everything in PC football so far has been about "I, I, I" or "me, me, me". A solid winter in the weight room and an attitude adjustment is what this program needs right now and they are on the right track with Coach Teegarden.:thumb:
  14. Downhill? PC went 6-4 last season, beating 6 teams with losing records. This years schedule is much tougher than last season. The new staff is doing a fine job out there at PC...give them time, they'll get it turned around.:thumb:
