I totally agree. Sometimes we have to make tough decisions and sometimes no matter which choice we make someone loses. It is okay for these kids to have to make a hard decision, but this coach sent a message to his kids that football is more important than helping save a human life. "Meathead" is a kind word for him IMO.

It's kinda like being in college and having one class on one end of campus and your next class on the other end of campus. Don't you just hate that?

This still doesn't help Mercer's case because for the most part football teams are made up of boys and Mercer has a large advantage due not only to a larger enrollment but also more boys to choose from in that enrollment. Again the numbers are what they are. I have no problem with them being where they are for this year as I said play the hand dealt you. But once the hand is over don't try to tell me you beat a flush with a pair of dueces.

None of the teams listed above are moving from 2A all the way to 5A as Mercer will. The point has been made several times and is a very valid one that Mercer has a very large advantage this year because of a unique situation. The numbers don't lie, they have an advantage. Mercer fans need to stop worrying about it and just enjoy the season and hopefully come home with a state title. Every team needs a little luck in winning a state championship. This could be the luck Mercer needs. You play the hand that was dealt to you.

Don't forget Region 4 District 7 in 3A includes Rock, Bell, Clay, and Madison Southern. All have a big following on here.

Sounds like a perfect night for high school football in late October in the great state of Kentucky. :D

Your statement above is the reason they are ranked above JC. It is that simple. I was in the computer field for 15 years until I started my own business and I hate to tell you but computers don't think. They are tools for us to use. Cantrell happens to use a computer to do his ranking vs. a sheet of paper. The computer didn't take over anything, it is sitting in a little room minding its own business. :D

Oh I forgot to mention you have Mason, and then probably Ashalnd again, then Rock or Bell before getting to NKY "powder puffs". :rolleyes: So if I were you I would take care of business first and just see if you are one of the lucky 4 that make it that far. Just my humble opinion.

The problem is not that you gave an opinion but that you expect everyone else to agree with your opinion. Your statement above makes no sense IMO. If you use your criteria then we would have to Lafayette, Mercer, Bethleham, Bardstown, and any other undefeated team to the top. Schedules do matter. You are ranked in the Top 10 in the state overall by this system. I don't see the problem here. Be happy. I for one have been defending JC as a legit team all year but I think there are at least 10 teams in this state who are better than they are at this point some of which are ranked below them.

We are talking about the same Knox Central that Bell blanked last week right? This will get ugly fast. Rock on their home field, last regular season home game, senior night, oh another small detail the Rock has been ranked 1 and 2 all year in Rush defense. Safe answer here is Cov Cath/Highlands, but I will have to go with Cov Holy Cross/Beechwood. This could be a great game. I am going with Holy Cross.

My issue with this new format is the fact that you basically go two more weeks into the season before seeing just how good a team is against competion outside of their district. Use JC as an example. The JC fans are going crazy trying to prove they are a top 5 school in 3A. Many others in 3A have criticized their soft schedule. Now it is 2 extra weeks before they step outside of their little district box to prove who is right. In the past we would see situations where very competitive districts would sweep the other district in their region and create some really great matchups late in the playoffs. Those days are gone.

Looks good to me, but I think the CCH fans might want to tweak it a little. :D

I like this mentality. It makes for an easy target during playoffs. Hope HHS players and coaches think the same way. Sometimes surprises are not fun... :D

The question was Top 5 in your region. I assume this means within your class as well. Once again the NKY bunch are called for unneccessary roughness and piling on. ;) How about somebody take a shoot at this region for each class???

For a game that was talked about as one of the big games in KY this weekend, we are spending alot of time arguing over the PA anouncer. This must be a theme for the year. Last week people were griping about Campbell Co.'s anouncer. Two things in my opinion. First of all these are usually volunteer jobs so give them a break. Second if you have never been an anouncer or not willing to fix the problem by volunteering your own services then give it a rest and stick to the topic of football. If you haven't noticed it is played on that big grassy or muddy thing (just couldn't resist) in front of the bleachers with all the white lines on it and goal posts at each end. Last time I checked press boxes are behind the bleachers so no reason to confuse the two.

I think he means "East" of I-75 but with all the spin going on here who knows. ;)
