It was good. Washington County very young, played very hard though! Seneca was there also, they are loaded with athletes, Bell held their own with them. Didn't keep score, just did 10 plays and rotated but it was a great way to kick the season off down at Tick Creek! :thumb:

Billy Lawson 6' 255 4 year starter, Cody Marcum 6' 3" 265, started several games last year will anchor it. The other 2 are up for grabs right now. I don't want to speculate, but the frosh. David Hoskins 6'2" 255 looked awful good Friday night, Justin Patterson is a possible replacement. Joseph Collett is working hard for a def. start to go along with his offenseive line starting position.

No commander, Pineville beat them! Pineville won that division.

Boyle and Bell met in the finals. Boyle beat Bell on last play of the game, no time on the clock 34-31- Great game, great set up for playoff game!

Bell Co. won the overall competetion as they were undefeated. LCA has a good quarterback, receiver and back, also alot of other nice looking kids. Pikeville also looked good and has several nice athletes! Raceland was very aggresive but you could tell they had alot of young kids, but they held their own! Campbellsville had the overall best looking group of kids. But I don't even know if they won a game, they may have not sure. Great way to kick of the 09 season. :ylsuper:

His team is most definetily McCreary Central. I didn't say he thought his team was better than Bell. But He sure thinks they are vastly improved, and I sure hope so!!!!

Yes they really got their work cut out for them. He just led the Bobcats today to the championship at Campbellsville 7 on 7. He completed every pass but one in the last game they played and the one incompletion was a dropped ball by the receiver. I also attended the camp and was very impressed with him. I spoke with Bell coaches today who said he really looked good Friday night against Seneca and Washington county. All I can say, is we hope you keep doubting his talent, so we can show you this fall. Will not be long now, You better be ready because I know you think your team is much better.

They play them Oct. 9th! They don't have a game listed for the 9th.

Ya you can't forget big Mike. I heard he did well a couple of weks ago-finished 2nd! at Atlanta combine. Keith Lowe was camper of the week last week at Georgetown, Ben madon Received eye of the tiger award and Taylor Mills and JD Hilton caught the eye of the g-town coaches, They all really looked good. Broughton, osolonian and Johnson also went and are making grade strides. Can't wait til football!

:taz:Corey's older brother, Cody, a junior who plays wide out and corner for the bobcats ran a 4.6. Also senior Matt Raines a 3 year starter at corner and wide out ran a 4.43 40. I don't have there other times and scores. I will post when I get them. Sounds like some quick Bobcats to me! Corey Davenport was invited to attend the Underclassmen Combine in Atlanta. He won the "skills combine King" 40- 4.51, shuttle 4.33, Vertical 32.5, Broad Jump 9' 3" Bench 135lbs 18 times. Corey is a Soph. 5' 9" 165lb. and can fly! He will be one of the starters in the Bobcats backfield this coming year! He broke his arm midway through the season last year but is back and ready to go! Congrats Corey from the Bobact Nation! Sic em Boy!

Don't forget Whitley, they lost 2 games last year, both were to 2 state title holders in 2008. Also, a trip to Marion county will not be walk in the park, they defeated Bullitt East in the regular season last year and return several starters and Harlan Co., well we all can remember the good ol days of Bell vs. Cawood, Now Cawood has added 2 other schools with it. Should be pretty interesting season for sure. I heard the Boosters club was really going to put on several nice events for midnight madness this year. Spoke with one of the Booster members yesterday that is having a Bell county state championship quilt made to raffle off. It is going to have all the names and coaches on the 1991 team and this years 2008 team, just one of many things to come, can't wait.

Bell County opens with Alcoa Tn., defending state champion 3 or 4 years running now in the city-county bowl on Log Mtn.

I heard Bell was opening up with Alcoa Tennessee. Is that true? I know they have won several state championships.

Coach Carter has been at Bell for 2 seasons. He played on the 1991 state championship team. He went on to play college ball at Union. He has coached at Knox Central and Pineville before returning back to Bell. Hard nose guy, will work hard and expect the kids to work hard, has a good relationship with the players he coaches. Good luck Coach- We will miss that BIG Slick head of yours!

I really feel like Bell will re-load next year. Though losing 13 seniors will be diifficult to overcome. Bell will return 7 starters on Defense and 6 starters on offense from last years state championship team. Should be a good nucleus to build on. They are going to get tested early with 5 time state champions Alcoa Tenn. on the schedule, Johnson Central, saudie daisey Tn out of Chatanooga and Whitley co. on the early part of the schedule. Can't wait, where is the countdown ticker we had last year?:dancingpa
