I don't think it is a guarantee that the Rams would have won regardless who pitched. The Eagles are playing well the last few games and would be a tough matchup for anyone. I do think Coach Hoof sent his young pitcher to the mound with all the confidence in him that he would get the W. I'm sure he also wanted to get his young pitcher some quality innings against a tough opponent to prepare his Rams for the All-A Sectional this week and for district play later on down the road. I agree, it is always a pleasure when we beat Fairview!!!:thumb:

No. Fairview was a regular season game. Raceland won the 16th Region All-A Championship by defeating Bath Co. and travels to Paintsville to compete in the All-A Sectional. I'm not sure about about date & time.

There is never a time in a kids high school career that he should not receive support or respect from the folks in the community or administration. Success can be measured in more than just wins or losses, unfortunately some never see it that way. High school athletes work their tails off from day one and I'm confident the GC players are no different. If someone does not support the kids through the tough times then IMO they should not jump on their bandwagon when things are going well. Best of luck to the Muskies in 08 (except for one game:lol:)

There is some comfort in knowing that Mitch is now in a better place. Heaven just gained an Angel. My Prayers are with family and friends.

Paintsville has named former player and assistant coach Matt Ratliff to lead the Tigers basketball program. Ratliff has been an assistant at Paintsville for the last six years and was the point guard on the Tigers 1996 State Championship Team. Bill Mike Runyon's 531 wins and eight trips to the Sweet Sixteen will a tough act to follow.

^ Whomever the backup QB is should have to earn the job and I am confident that Coach Hoof and the staff will make the right decision as to who gets the job. Competition is a great thing and it will help develope both of these young men into good players. If both of the young QB's work hard and follow what the coaching staff teaches, the sky could be the liimit for them. Working together as one and putting the team first makes everyone involved a winner.

Congratulations to Travis. I watched him play in high school and he displayed great talent along with outstanding sportsmanship. Travis represented his family and the Paris Greyhounds with class. His signing to play at the next level is a nice reward for his dedication on the gridiron and in the classroom. I wish him the best.:thumb:

Tommy Deskins also had a nice career with the Tigers on the diamond. He was a heck of football player as well.

I don't think he was POY but he was selected to the OVC All-Conference team in 78 and 79. He was also a pretty good high school QB and did an excellent job while coaching at Lewis Co. for many years.

The best I ever played against from Lewis County was Corky Prater. He was a fantastic catcher and always a tough out at the plate.

A big loss for the Rams was in their kicking game but I think T. Preston is very capable of stepping in and getting the job done if he works hard this summer.

Congrats to J. McIntyre. Campbellsville is a great place to get a quality education and I think in a couple of seasons coach Thomas will have the Tigers program back on track.

Fortunately for Ram fans, John Scott Carver is playing and IMO is one of the best hitters in the region. I have watched him in high school and summer leagues and he can as Oldrambler stated, "flat out hit" a baseball. He is also a great kid that will give you everything he has every time he steps on the field.

That is great news. .. I'm sure if the community and the administration stay positive with these kids, the current coaching staff will restore the Bulldog Pride that we are so accustomed to seeing. It won't come easy so fans will have to be patient, but one thing that is guaranteed is the kids and current staff will give 100%. I wish the Bulldogs great success in 08.
