It is official Travis Angel will be going to Heidelberg College (Tiffin Oh).

He will be playing on their football team. :ylsuper:

I wouldn't be suprised to see Travis getting some FB time along with some MLB playing time.

They are NCAA Div. III, Ohio Athletic Conference.

Their football team also boasts a high GPA overall average.

The Ohio Athletic Conference Office announced today (Nov. 19) the 2007 football special award winners as voted on by leagues head coaches. Heidelberg College placed eight players on the all-conference team, with first-year head coach Mike Hallett earning the OAC Coach of the Year Award and offensive coordinator Jeff Filkovski being tabbed as the OAC Co-Assistant Coach of the Year.

Congratulations to Travis, I am sure he will do well at Heidelberg.

Great job Travis. I wish you the best at H-berg and thank you for your hard work and effort as a Paris Greyhound! You will have a great career.

Congratulations to Travis. I watched him play in high school and he displayed great talent along with outstanding sportsmanship. Travis represented his family and the Paris Greyhounds with class.

His signing to play at the next level is a nice reward for his dedication on the gridiron and in the classroom.

I have no idea who Travis Angel is but I do know Heidelberg's head coach, Mike Hallet. He was our offensive coordinator at Thomas More when I played. Coach Hallet would eventually go on to become the head coach and have success at that position. Heidelberg is now on the right track with Coach Hallet at the helm. Travis Angel, congrats on selecting a terrfic school with an awesome head coach. This is also my personal time to say hello to Rick Honaker, a former teammate of mine at Thomas More who is now coaching at Heidelberg with Coach Hallet, who is an excellent football coach and an even better person. Congrats Travis, now go help the 'Berg win an OAC Title!

Congrats to Travis. A chip off the old block. I think this a fine young guy that is going to represent his school and Kentucky very well in Ohio. I remember Travis as a small kid and haven't been around him much as he got into high school but did get to see him perform some. It is nice to see his growth and his potential start to develop even further. I remember his dad as a tremendous high school player as well. I am sure he is very proud of Travis. We will be keeping up with you Travis. Go get 'em in Ohio.

I thought he was going to BYU

BYU invitited him to walk on. He choose to take the scholarship in Northern Ohio and I think his major had a lot to do with him choosing Heidelberg, and probably 5 hours travel -vs- 72 hours travel time probably had something to do with it to?

Yes his daddy was a hard nosed very tough football player at BCHS back in the mid 80's.

I had the pleasure to play with and against Travis in High School and Middle School and he is an excellent worker and does nothing but try to get better... I wish him the best of luck!!!
