High School coach.

Anyways, to run spread you gotta have a good defense. It just hasn't worked that well at boyd.

You may find it hard to believe ANY coach would say it, but I've heard it said directly from the coaches mouth, not hearsay.

What has running the spread against JC gotten them thus far? And if this Coach Love is as good as it seems, (taking that from how bragged on he is here) Sounds like he would be a good asset out at Boyd.

We're talking about a school though, where the Coach sets up the schedule for the concession stand and tells them, you dont work it your kid doesn't play.

Yea, I was talking to someone from the school over there yesterday. It's a shame for sure why he's leaving. This one story though I'd love to hear the REAL story behind the story.

So very true Birdsfan, so very true. After visiting that young mans website 4thman in the car....something like that, his miracle definately is revealed.

That's another one of the problems with the coaches. Kids aren't running to tell mommy on the coaches they're running to tell mommy to get out there and paint some buildings and plow some field up so they can get some playing time or atleast the honor of sitting the bench on varsity games.

BC just doesn't have the talent to run spread against teams like Johnson Central.

Yea I believe so, misfortune caught up with him after he went to Ohio State though. It's a shame too.

I'm gonna go back bout......10 years and say one of the best I saw was a Jackson kid from Ironton in a game against Ashland. Old timers here can't remember that ones first name though.

And once again Red, just because no one else is on here speaking up doesn't mean there isn't a problem.

Getting rid of Vince is one great step for the JFL program and then I think the head football coach should take charge and build a program from bottom up. If they can get a head coach in there that will step up and build the entire football program you'll see a big change in the game. Providing they stop using that dang spread offense.

Yea things would be different if they treated all the players with attitudes the same, they don't though. They just use it as an excuse on certain kids. What's the worse they're ever gonna do make em run poles regardless of what they've done? How about making those kids with attitudes run poles? Heck how about making the coaches with attitudes sit out their vacations and run poles too.

I've not heard complaints about the JFL coaches other than signups are way down. I think alot of that has to do with parents knowing what lies ahead at the middle school level. Face it if someones big brother or relative or neighbor has been run off from middle school it's going to get the parents wondering if it's worth all the effort and get them into finding other outlets for kids.

I think Preston was great at the middle school level and that he'd be great back there again. he might consider it a step down though I'm not sure about that. But they need someone there that's wanting to go to the jfl and keep kids in the program.

Oh I don't need you to feel for me. Atleast I'm not afraid to step up and voice my opinion publicly. I'm just waiting for that new coach so I can voice my opinion to him too. Well unless they pick some patsy that I know it would be a waste of my breathe on. But I will be out there doing my best to get those other parents to step up and let it be known what's going on at the middle school level.

Which is why I've been encouraging them to come back and go get it not let anyone run them off.

I'm not saying they can't get better. I'm saying they can! That's why it upset me that they told these boys going into their jr year to find a new sport. These boys had good seasons and IMO i think next year they will be even better. But they were told look for other sports? That's what I'm saying is wrong. I'm saying give them a chance in the spring to show if they want to work on improving and come back bigger and better. Not chase them off at the end of a decent season. Had these boys not started 95% of all the JV games I could see saying dude can't use ya. But these were boys that started constantly and played hard and good.

With them going to get new high school coach what about middle school. Should they start with a clean slate there and try rebuilding or see if they can get a head coach strong enough to crack down on the middle school level?

I agree with you there, it's a tough job that you have to earn your teams respect and you don't do that alienating everyone. These kids hear the parents argue and babble on and it spills over into the team and then they wind up resenting the coaches that have they " do it my way or find another school " attitude.

Exactly the point I've been try'n to get acrossed since this thread started! Whew.....glad to know I'm not the only one out there thinking kids do improve and we encourage them not run them off........

Look at the boys tonight, they came back together and did what needed done and played like they know how as a team.
