I had mentioned earlier in this thread that Walton Verona would be contenders in the 8th Region. I have received news that their starting catcher who is also their 2nd best hitter has decided not to play this season. This could make them quite a bit less of a contender.

I predicted this in an earlier thread. Not a surprise to me. Marion County defeated Mercy at Marion late in the regular season while Mercy was without its team leader and best player. Coach Evans is a class act and one of the best coaches in the state. Congrats to the Jags.

I can assure you that the video does not do justice to what my eyes actually saw. I had a much better view than you and the video camera. It was a bogus call, plain and simple. As previously stated in another thread, the shooter in question admitted to flopping. The defender has as much right to that space as the shooter as long as the defender is straight up ( which he was) and does not move in under the shooter while shooter is in air.

I was at the game. Was not aware of any poor sportsmanship.

I know of the game you speak. Only difference? There was actual contact in that game two years ago. I had a pretty good view for both plays. For what it is worth, that's just my opinion. Which really doesn't mean much.

Not criticizing, just an observation. Outside of Moss, Ryle had by far the most talent. Alot of "me" talent IMO. Ryle should not be the underdog. I know they are young and will have many more chances. My team did not make it out of the 31st District, but my team did not have 2-3 D1 prospects on the court either. You will have to speak to our AD on the future matchup. I have no influence.
