  1. They do have "hope". They "hope" to meet allah and the 72 virgins.
  2. In the immortal words of Montgomery Burns: "Eggsellant".Would love to.
  3. My memory of the spotlight is a little fuzzy. My guess it was probably a magical herb of some kind:lol:. Great show. Got to see Pantera again at the Gardens in March 2000 Soulfly, Nothingface, and Morbid Angel. Last time I saw Dime. Again, they were on top of their game. Luckily, of the five times I saw Pantera, Anselmo was on top of his game also. As most Pantera fans know, Phillip could lay an egg occasionally.
  4. Sounds like fun. Actually, a guy by the name of Eddie Trunk does something similar on XM Radio, from NYC, I think. I imagine that Admiral has heard of him. Maybe I will have time for something like that when my youngest leaves the nest. He is four right now:D. Jim, I remember sitting in your upstairs room/attic playing a Rock n Roll trivial pursuit type game, circa 1985. Do you still have that game ? I f remember correctly, I was pretty good at the Hard Rock catagory:ylsuper:.
  5. I still have my stub also. Correct me if I am wrong, but my fading memory slightly remembers Phil Anselmo joining Anthrax on stage for a version of the Celtic Frost classic "Dethroned Emporer".
  6. Love the Louisville Gardens. Pantera/ Anthrax/ Sebastian Bach, January 1998. Pantera was on top of their game that evening. Another show of note that I saw at the Gardens, Megadeth/ Stone Temple Pilots, January 1993.
  7. Also had the Metal Blade compilation shown in the pic, but was a cassette. Don't know if that is the same volume. I believe there was more than one volume. I had the one that had Lizzie Borden, Trouble, etc.....Trouble actually covered the Beatles "Come Together".
  8. I also had the Queen "The Game" and Iron Maiden "Piece of Mind" records on vinyl when i was a kid. Cool stuff you have. Most of my stuff from those days was lost in a house fire. Would not matter about the shirts. I wore Large back in the day, now up to XXL.
  9. I had that Metallica shirt when I was a teenager. Bought at Riverbend. Metallica and The Cult, ...Justice tour, July 1989. Great show. Buddy of mine that Jim Schue knows had to use the potty when The Cult played "Fire Woman". Memories.
  10. Where do i start? Sabbath: Jim knows I have been a Ozzy fan since we were kids, but Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio was excellent. AC/DC: I like Bon and Brian Johnson. Back in Black is a great record, although grossly overplayed by FM radio. For Those About to Rock also very good.A lessre known record, Flick of the Switch, one of my favorites. Saw AC/DC in 1991, great show. Very few live acts are as tight as they are live. As long as they enjoy what they are doing, more power to them. I wish I could make a good living playing music. It works because Angus And Malcomb have always been the creative forces that drive AC/DC. Skynyrd: Since the death of Ronnie, Steve Gaines, and Allen Collins ( Billy Powell and Leon Wilkerson have since passed on also), Their original music has not been very memorable, poor modern country music. But their constant touring for the last 20 or so years has given many Skynyrd fans like me the chance to enjoy their music live. I was 5 years old when the plane went down in McComb, Mississippi. I actually met Garry Rossington and Billy Powell in 1993. Van Halen: Their decline in recording creativity started one or two records( DiverDown and 1984 ) before Roth's departure. Decent records, but not quite ton the level with VH1,VH2,WACF, and Fair Warning. I did not care for the Van Hagar stuff, although got to catch them live in 1992. Good show. I also enjoyed Hagar's solo stuff pre-Van Halen. And for some of you that go even farther back, I really liked Montrose ( Ronnie Montrose's band with Hagar on vocals.) I am of the opinion that a band can withstand personel changes as long as the creative forces remain intact. Metallica has flat out stunk on record and live since Cliff Burton was killed in 1986, and he was the bass player. But everyone that really knows their origins, knows Burton was the driving force behind them. Iron Maiden is an exception to MY opinion. Bass player Steve Harris has been the creative force since their inception. When vocalist Bruce Dickinson left Maiden in the late 90's, they were just a shell of themselves. When Dickinson returned a few years later, they continued their previous success (worldwide, not just the States), and may have surpassed it in some parts of the world. Judas Priest popularity decreased quite a bit when Halford left. Although i saw Priest with Tim Owens on vocals and loved it, Halford was and is a big part of their creativity since he returned. For you "somewhat" underground metal fans, Sepultura declined dramatically when founder, rythym guitarist, vocalist, Max Cavalera left in 1997. He was the main creative force behind Sepultura. I could go on for days. I will stop now.
  11. Tribute band? I disagree. Jerry Cantrell is and always was the creative force behind AIC. Besides the riffs, the signature melodies are and always have been Jerry. Some of you AIC fans may scream blasphemy when I say this, but Layne Staley was irrelevant as far as I am concerned. Very few musicians in heavy rock are as creative as Cantrell. I love the new AIC.
  12. I am surprised that none of the Yates players have been injured by being undercut on a dunk or layup. Or have a broken nose from a point blank baseball pass while guarding the inbounds while pressing:thumb:. Based on the Davis coach response, I would say he has a lot of self control or no nads.
  13. Both ways is fair play, wouldn't you say. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe in most cases, "whining in chorus" from common sense folks...I mean right wingers, has been related to decisions made by Federal judges, not SCOTUS. Based on your pot stirring....i mean logic, the "judicial activism" score would now stand at Libs 100, Conservatives 1. We have a lot of catching up to do.
  14. I expect WV to represent the 8th well. They have a legit shot to make it to the Semifinals. Good luck to the Bearcats in Richmond.
  15. Would not surprise me. Most parents should be seen, not heard.
  16. I assume you mean "who"? They would be unhappy parents. You know, the typical stuff that comes with being a first year Coach at a new school. I think Coach Trame does a good job.
  17. I would also add: Judy-Frosh-Walton Verona Clinkenbeard-Frosh-Walton Verona Neely-Frosh-Owen County Ogle-8th-Beechwood McMurtry-8th-Oldham Co. Boley-6th-Larue Co. Epps-Frosh-Marion Co.
  18. I told a friend of mine( a WV fan) that people would be turned away at the gate. He did not think that would be the case. If WV had sent the band home, they could have seated fifty to a hundred more people. It made for a great atmosphere. That being said, I as a Gallatin fan, can remember Gallatin not hosting a District tournament for 30 plus years due to lack of capacity. Congrats to Coach Trame and his team. He has kept the wolves at bay, for now.
  19. Without intending to give a geography lesson, can you locate Gallatin County on a map? Not trying to sound cynical, but I do know several NKY folks that are not aware of were Gallatin County is located. I am of the opinion that is part of NKY.
  20. Great analogy:rolleyes:. Sorry, but this is a high school thread. High Schools do not recruit:sssh:
  21. I think that overall coaching in the state of Kentucky is better than most States. We are lucky to be able to have so many quality coaches in the NKY area in the 8th, 9th, and 10th Regions. Very few areas/states have the passion for basketball that we have here.
  22. Based on the poll selections,I wasn't aware that Brossart was still in the 9th region.
