You need a better excuse than that. -
Gallatin 59 Owen 53 (OT)

Great atmosphere for high school basketball tonight. Coach Duvall's Rebels fought back from a ten point halftime deficit to make the game very interesting. Congrats to Coach Jones's Wildcats for maintaining their composure to force OT. I believe Travis Davis was ten for ten from the charity stripe. For those of us that have been following this 31st District rivalry since 2006, we have been treated to some intense, entertaining, hard nosed games that for the most part have had some endings that range from entertaining to bizarre. I do not think that will change anytime soon. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season. -

Congrats to Coach Evans, his staff, and players. They are a class act. -
UK and the NCAA could/should end up with egg on their face from this. Best of luck to Paxton. I have enjoyed watching him pitch the last couple of seasons.

Walton Verona 40 Owen County 30

I am referring to Owen's defense. Defensively, they limited Dixon and Sandlin under double figures I believe. As far as bad games by individual players, Walton's defense had a lot to do with that. They have a good record for a reason. -

The Bearcats took Owen County's best shot and won by 10. The Bearcats are hardnosed and do not make many mistakes. Coach Miller and Coach Sullivan do a great job. -

Gallatin County 41 Williamstown 39
FarBeyondDriven replied to GatorFan's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Williamstown played extremely hard but came up just short at the end. Coach Wilhoite had a great game plan that gave his team every opportunity to win. Congrats to Gallatin on a hard fought win. It wasn't pretty, but the last time I checked, style points do not impact a teams win/loss record. Good luck to Gallatin in the Championship against Walton Verona. -

A wise man once told me that the only sure thing is there is no sure thing. The game will not be played on paper, but the Bearcats will be heavily favored. You historically have always bet against Gallatin's boys and girls. Odds are you will get it right eventually. Good luck to both teams. -
Obama pulled this straight from the Saul Alinsky playbook.

You are correct. I was not using "Statist" as a glowing term. Socialist, Communist, Statist.......etc. They all are the same to me. Now, the pointy headed academics can now pile on me about the differences between each. I really do not care about the differences between each "ism". They all restrict the yearning of the indidvidual and the human spirit.

On #6, you are correct. Obama is a Statist.

I have a prediction concerning the adults in the Ryle girl's program: Implosion.
-
Based on the 4th quarter statistics, i would assume that is when the numerous D-1 coaches arrived to evaluate Ryle's many D-1 prospects score 28 4th quarter points in a blowout against a fellow 33rd District rival and sister Boone County school. As Fat Albert would say: Kind of like school during the summer....No class.

I am a bit surprised at this margin. Congrats to the Scott Eagles. I look for Simon to bounce back pretty quickly. -

Sandlin had a big game for W-V. Coach Mefford had a good game plan that kept his Panthers within striking distance for most of the game. Carroll County got some good looks in the second half, but did not convert on some of them. Coach Miller had a good game plan to limit Devine's touches and the Bearcats defended her well. Both teams played hard. Congrats to W-V, and good luck on Friday against Owen County in the semifinal. -
Really? If that were true, i suspect the DNC could/would find someone else to successfully run for that seat. C'mon Jim, you know the only reason Robert "Sheets" Byrd gets a pass is due to the fact he has a capitol "D" next to his name.

Top underclassman in the 8th???
FarBeyondDriven replied to Sportster's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Walton-Verona has several talented underclassmen. Dixon(JR),Slavey(SOPH), Sandlin(FR),Clinkenbeard(FR),McAdams(FR),and Judy(FR) for example. There will be times that you won't hear much about some of these kids other than Dixon and Sandlin, due to the fact they are all on the same team. But believe me, every one of these girls would start for several teams in the 8th Region. I expect Walton-Verona to contend for the 8th Region title for the next 3 years.
