With all due respect to those who misunderstood the 8th grade comment. Highlands had three 8th graders soon to be freshman playing for them. (That's factual) This means they will be freshman in the fall. It's true what really counts is what happens in December.
What was really astonishing about Highlands performance is that three of the six or seven that played the most were 8th graders last year. As for being tired, several of highlands players have played an exhaustive AAU schedule. I will agree that NDA looked pretty tired.
Highlands played Boone County yesterday. Because of weather it's going to be continued today. The score is 5-4 Highlands in the bottom of the 7th. There was some good pitching in that game.
Take a look at the programs that allow their kids to go on spring break and a look at the programs that dont. Allowing players to go spring break reflects the true mentality of the program.
Tonight will be a great game. Highlands went something like 18-18 from the three throw line last time the two schools played. They will have to duplicate that kind if effort to win tonight.
I think it would be great to start a basketball rivalry in basketball between the two schools. I dont think we can say a football rivalry really exist anymore. From a success stanpoint Highlands has dominated CC on the gridiron for several years.

*Tiebreaker= 3rd Region
It was a great game. I believe the region could be won by either of the top
three. The altercation on the Holmes bench was pretty "Bush League". I
guess the bottom line is what happens on the floor. Congrats to Holmes.
