Highlands v. Simon Kenton
Hey Cooty...don't waste your time acknowledging this guy...he is on here to throw out criticism, to slam these young ladies, and brings nothing productive to the table...poor fella has a little too much time on his hands? Ya gotta give him credit for being able to save enough weekly allowance to sign up for BGP's...

Boone County /Simon Kenton predictions..
JD's Dad...this is a classic example of fans seeing two different games. IMO...if BC doesn't miss foul shots and wide open bunny's early in the game...they could have run away with it. I personally felt Boone handed the game to SK last year and could have made a ton excuses why it happened (including some of yours), but they deserved the loss because SK was more composed and out-played us down the stretch. This year...I felt that BC showed more composure down the stretch and kept the ball in the hands of their two experienced players. I'm personally much more proud of how our younger role players responded. Boone has a combined 10 soph's/fresh on this roster so for the first time in years there are "zero" expectations...so they are just playing. This win will hopefully help our kid's gain a little confidence...I'm also convinced the loss exposed some things that coach Stowers will correct. So both teams gained something early in the season. Many of us were surprised with the outcome...but you can't steal our thunder because these kids played hard.

Boone County /Simon Kenton predictions..
SK should win big...they are returning their entire team, BC lost 5 of their top 8 from last year, it's on SK's home floor, and they beat BC last year...shoud be a no-brainer! If Boone could keep the loss within single digits it would be a nice boost for their confidence.

Simon Kenton @ Walton Verona Predictions!
SK...by as many points as Stowers wants...IF the outcome is less than 25pts it will be because he chose to save some juice for their Monday match-up...IMO

Notre Dame VS. Montgomery County
Play a slow down game and let MC shoot...and it could be a long night for NDA...Speed the game up, like NDA will certainly do, and I will give the edge to NDA since it's on their home floor.

Conner 74 Holmes 60
bjim...I personally couldn't agree more with the first line of your post. I've said it from early on that they are a top team in the 9th as well as the top team in the 33rd. I also stated that I cannot understand why Hodges rarely gets mentioned...she is one of the toughest and most fearless players I have ever seen.

CJ Coaches Poll
I hear ya CoachK...I agree with Long and Sandfoss. They belong in the top 5...at least. I personally have no idea how Hodges (Conner) continues to get overlooked because that young lady is special and is tough as nails. It's a classic case of the writers down south knowing very little about NKY...I'm sure they would prefer to only rank in their geographical area, but they are required to be politically correct. They seem to have just copy/pasted their rankings from other "old" articles because they still have BC at #1 and there is no possible way...

9th region???
Sparrow is practicing "lightly" and will hopefully be back to form this month. Unfortunatley we will never know about the Bowling girl so no need to speculate what would've, should've, could've happened. She will be much happier in her new surroundings and that's what matters.

9th region???
Sorry to burst your bubble Flatrock; however, the poll that was recently released was put together back in April...and was just released again. Boone was tabbed #1 when Findley, Brasseaux, and Sparrow were expected to be on the roster. If there was a "do-over"...Boone would fall to 4th or 5th. I also disagree with every other comment you made. Those other teams are not selfish...and they each have better 1-2 punches than Boone (especially NCC). You might want to strap on your seatbelt my friend because you are about to go on a bumpy ride if you are a BC fan.

9th region Frosh forecast
Happens every year UNC...she brought up 3-4 last year...4 the year before that (which seemed to work out okay)... It's no secret that Boone lost 9-10 players off of last years V squad (grad, VB, Soccer, transfers, injury)...You know as well as anyone that Boone will struggle this season...breaks your heart...huh? Let's talk about the freshmen team...you can add this to the BC thread.

9th region Frosh forecast
CardFan...My guess is that Fookes will pull these two girls up to JV/Varsity along with a couple of others.

Boone County
Let's hope you're right Ocho Cinko!!

Boone County
This topic has been discussed. BC will struggle big-time and thay have no one to replace any player that was lost. They lost a total of 10 players off of last years team and will finish in the middle of the pack in the 9th region...at best! The ranking that was used in today's KY Post is the same one from back in April which is why they are ranked #1. Since that time poll they lost 4 additional impact players. Prior to then, they were absolutely the favorite to win the region. Not even Nell Fookes can pull a rabbit out of this hat...

9th region???
It happens in every state...There is much much more moving around if you cross the bridge...

9th region???
To be honest…I really thought it was the Salyers girl because I heard they wanted to move to BC last year. She seems like a nice kid and “If” it would have been her it would have worked out X’tremely well for their family…1) Father getting a better career opportunity in NKY 2) go to a school with one of her best friends 3) live near AAU teammates and coaches. IBALL is in position to know if it were her, and would never sandbag, so I guess we’ll wait until OBC lets the Ole’ cat out of the bag. BTW…If a kid is ruled eligible I challenge you to name one HS program that will tell a strong 6’1” post player…”sorry, you didn’t make the team…try again next year”. (Cracks me up that you even said that in another post!!)

9th region???
OBC…If all of the rules are followed then the kid should be ruled eligible. For some reason you seem to feel the need to justify their move when it’s not a big deal. Get a job, “buy” a house, transfer…play ball! If you are close to this situation, and it sounds like you are, then share with the family that CATS scores were higher at New Haven, Grey, and Ryle…also, Ockerman elementary, Ockerman Middle, and Boone. Comparing the success of Bball programs and head coaches is an absolute no-brainer so no need to go there. Bottom line…If they feel good about the situation and it gives them a better life…that’s all that matters…

KHSAA says girls CAN NOT play!!
I'm prety sure X'treme was the only KY team in the tourney.

KHSAA says girls CAN NOT play!!
There were 15-18 KY players in Columbus for the All Ohio NIKE Jamboree. There were a lot of colleges in attendance…3/4 of which were D1 (Ohio State, Duke, UNC, Michigan…etc) to name a few.

KHSAA says girls CAN NOT play!!
This topic came up a few months ago when discussing AAU versus HS. Someone said they spoke to a couple of elite players that were definitely college bound…those particular players told her that they chose to play on a club team during the winter instead of HS so they can compete in the fall exposure events. This isn’t wide spread, but it will be as these players continue to get better and better. The first day of school makes absolutely no sense since HS ball doesn’t officially begin until mid-Oct. They should be able to compete anywhere/anytime until HS season begins and then have the honor of representing their HS. The player should never have to make a choice. The feedback that I received from the KHSAA was “the percentage of players that will compete on the next level is not nearly high enough to make a rule change”. I was told that an elite AAU team may have 80% of their players with an ability to play on the college level, but the majority of the HS teams have a much lower percentage. I also said “our kids are not technically on the HS team until tryouts”…He said “true…but they will be ineligible for the upcoming HS season if they attend any organized event”. Ya just cannot seem to win these battles.

*Walton (8th Region)*
Walton did not play Boone's varsity.

9th region???
3PT...after interviewing several candidates...an assistant has been hired. Also, an additional person will be helping out this year on an availability basis. I don't have any details other than this. Ryle may not win the region this year, but the new coaches will make an immediate impact. There will be a whole new attitude.

9th region???
Oscar...BC lost 4 players to graduation and 2 to transfer. Are you aware of any more? Please share!! This will be the first time in years that Boone will be the underdog in many games. It'll be interesting to see how they handle the underdog role and the much lower expectations. I originally heard that Miller was headed to Louisville. I now hear she is currently playing on the VB team at Dixie. Hmmm...guess time will tell.

9th region???
Brasseaux is leaving this weekend to start at her new school...and yes, Findley is playing. Findley and her family got a chuckle out of the rumor she wasn't playing.

9th region???
Enthusiasm for your team is great…but my goodness Ludlow fans. Many of us love to pull for the underdog; however, you are making it difficult. You are begging for the bullseye on your backs…be careful what you ask for. Let’s hope your coaches and players do not buy into your hype & arrogance. Overall, the region is down IMO so this is a perfect time for your best team in years, BUT get the job done first…and then talk smack. Conner was without a doubt near the top of the region already. Now with the two transfers and getting Johns back (was transferring to Ryle) they are probably the favorite. I’m familiar with the power forward that transferred; however, I think IBALL may be sandbagging on his knowledge about the 6’1” transfer Behrens will play a much bigger role at BC now that Brasseaux has moved. She is my early pick for POY. Long is one of the hardest workers so next year will probably be her year.
