I remember st Few year sa ago went to St. X Cincy for a frosh game. Was told they had 90 boys try out. They had two frosh teams with about 30 playing. Amazing

I see. Obviously Cov Cath is an elite program in NKY. Just trying to see what they do to set the standard. The two frosh must be pretty good ball players

Gave some a few years ago. Relying so heavily on football players is the issue. Has been for years. I keep saying I hope they figure it out. So far they haven't. I really do wish I could hold my head high when discussing Highlands ball. Went to regional last season with former Holmes player. He kept asking what the heck happened to the Birds program? He pretty much agreed that a team laden with football players was rarely a recipe for success.

Sorry. I did stop going to games years ago. Found it hard to watch. You are right about the talent. Just doesn't seem to be there. Didn't mean to upset anyone. Just hate to see the program where it has sunk to. Love to see them get it turned around. Not close to the program anymore so I would have no idea what the answer is.

Why the ???? A couple of years ago, I went to Regional and saw Birds lose to Lloyd. Um we never lost to Lloyd. Now Bellevue? No disrespect to the Tigers. Obviously doing good things. They are on edge of being the worse team in the 36th? For some reason Boys Basketball has been getting a pass the past decade. What if the football team had ONE year like this? It would literally be the end of times in the Fort. Like I said in another post, maybe it is what it is. I just have a hard time accepting that.

We at one time had Shields, Petty and Listerman on the bench. Coach Shields was obviously the one that brought the program to prominence. He was very involved with the kids down to grade school level. The JV players had to ref grade school games on saturday mornings at Moyer, and you could expect Coach to make an appearance. He also knew what everyone of his players did academically, socially and at home. Sometimes too much lol. Until someone can figure out that they need to develop non football kids I think they will continue to struggle. As good as the football program has been the basketball program has been bad. I do not know the present coach, hopefully he gets it figured out.

So is this rock bottom for the Birds? Or just mark a low that will be the norm ?

Most won't listen. I was watching a game where team A was playing 1 2 2 zone. Team B was killing them in the middle. I knew one of the assts. during a TO he looked up and I caught his eye. I mouthed get out of the zone. He just shook his head and looked away. Team B went on to beat a higher ranked team A

Wow. Nice win for Tigers. Epic result for both programs. I almost fell off the couch.
