  1. They would have to be behind these teams b/c they lost too them. Once Dunbar finds their identity they will be extremely hard to beat. I t's always tough to watch coaches when they spend so much time with the kids away from their own families and then people come and complain when they think that THEIR KID isn't getting a fair shot. Coach Ligon has done a great job at Station and was fired and then rehired AND HE'S COMING FROM LOUISVILLE EVERYDAY. Coaches pay a price when they're winning or if they're losing. people just need to come to grips with reality.
  2. It was a great game. Dunbar just missed a few down the stretch that would have broken the momentum that BS had, but it didn't go that way and Dunbar lost.
  3. But when you are dealing with selfish people who don't understand what it takes to win. The coach has done a great job with his kids at Dunbar and they should be extremely lucky to have him. IF memory serves me correctly they are 4-2 and probably a top 3 team in the toughest region in the state. What needs to happen is that continue to support their coach. It sure is funny that the past few years their hasn't been a complaint the first. And as soon as they win a few everyone becomes a critic. Unbelievable.
  4. It's a shame that parents would get on the chat lines and criticize the coach, for doing a good job. The kids played hard and missed a few shots down at the end that they normally make.
  5. It's not the staffs fault for that so don't go pointing fingers at people. Understand that this game was scheduled before the season even began. Who new the football team would even make the playoffs this year? Or play this deep? Tough loss for FHS, but know one is to blame for this.
  6. Who cares about feeder schools, when the topic is who's the next coach! Byars was one of the best coaches you could get at FHS. I heard from a very reliable source that everyone was pink slipped, except the football coach. I mean he got it, but wasn't going to be let go. He will be the next athletic director. Byars did a fantastic job last year! He made it to the region with almost nothing. He could have easily won the game, but his best player was hurt. HE BEAT THE HORSE FRANKLIN COUNTY! Sad thing is that Champ is getting all this press and the same thing happen to Juan and nobody cares. I think that Juan deserved better than what he got after posting a great season. Its not about what you do during the season, but what you do in the post season. He won about 10 games, BUT nobody cares he made it to the region. Meaning that he had a chance to go to state. OF COURSE, he played eventual state champs, but it was tournament time and you never know what could have happen at that particular time. Just goes to show this coaching game has gone political, coaches have NO security what so ever. when they are tired of you or someone thinks you're not a good fit. You're done! The principal before the new one that came from Wilkinson Street may be the blame for this one. Should have kept Juan Byars, this program will continue to suffer, because of foolish acts of people in frankfort. Byars was making a true sacrifice by traveling from paris to frankfort everyday and also starting to teach at the school then at the last minute be told they don't have a teaching gig for your. WOW! Best of luck to Coach Byars he will be okay. God always takes care of his children.
  7. Congratulations to coach Matt Yates. He a great guy for that job!:ylsuper:
  8. there will have to be a tornado and natural land disaster to happen at both schools for them to loose against model and frankfort.
  9. Mad. Central should feel good they at home against a tough tates creek team. the two lexington district by far a better than what Mad. Central faces. put them in the two lexington districts and see how they come out year after year
  10. The two 7-8 teams Lafayette and Dunbar have played two of the toughest schedules in the state. Please before making comments check out the scheduling and then comment. thank :thumb:
  11. I think Dunbar is a quailty team all around. Other teams have tried to slow them down with a zone and Dunbar can shoot. Dunbar's problem is age and size. Put they are truely IMO and quality team. Just think you'll see the same thing next year.
  12. Wondering about comments on the game last night? #23 Franklin Co. and Dunbar:D
  13. uk 96 you can't judge an 11th region team to a scrimmage at hazard. If memory serves me correctly Dunbar beat both teams down there. They had hazard down 20 to 9 at one point and then they started counting fouls in a scrimmage so the coach had to take out some of his starters or it would have been the same results down there. I think Dunbar deserves some credit for how hard they play. Also last year in the STATE TOURNAMENT, Madison Central Mashed Hazard. The 14th region is no match for the 11th with the exception of a win against Lafayette.
  14. I don't think the game against Dunbar was a fluke.
  15. Daniel Brown got the job it will be announced on friday
  16. just heard that Daniel Brown got the job and it will be announced on friday
  17. I'm not really surprised about this one. Feldhaus is a great coach, and has a great team. I think scott co. may have just over looked them. Scott is young and will be a strong contender next season, they will learn from this and move on. they are realizing now how tough the 11th is.
  18. who will be player of the year and coach of the year in the 11th Region? Since central won, does that add feldhaus in the running? or does champ get it? Remember Dunbar won at central this year and station couldn't. There a lot of great coaches and players in the 11th I would like to know.
  19. I agree Coach Kirk is not only a great coach, he's also a great person. What he's done with Sayre has been phenomenal. Champ is a great coach, but also has great assistants that help his program roll (Hammonds, Fergueson, the other coach reese is his name I think). He has turned station into a powerhouse again, and that's fun to watch. It would be fun to see Station and Dunbar play again in the Region. Good Luck to Ligon and Hutchinson.
  20. Tyler Wilkerson - Lafayette Aaron Dunaway - Henry Clay Joshua Mack - UHA Deontay Wright- Dunbar Vincent Crutcher - PRP
  21. What about Dunbar's coach? He's taken some hold overs and some inexperienced sophomores and freshman and made them into something.
  22. So who would get it based on what has happened this year?
  23. Who do you think should or will be coach of the year? And how do you select the coach? Do you take someone who has talent or someone who has to play with whatever he has to go with?
  24. The big kid Dunbar has gets hammered like that every night, but doesn't get the calls. If that's the most physical team you've guys played all year, you should schedule more 11th region games and then you'll really see physical. Etown won the game and that's that, but Dunbar is a much better team than it displayed at Etown. Good luck to the next 2006 State Champions (ETOWN).
  25. king that's a very harsh statement about dunbar considering they only have 2 seniors and the rest are sophomores and freshman. I don't think that was the best officiated game, considering the history of last year when etown came to lex. Dunbar is a very young and competitive team. As far as no offense at all? When you play on the road with a young team and you don't get some calls it takes them out of their game. The first quarter Dunbar's big kid had two fouls and before half time he had three. That gave no answer for the big kid they had, and he just shoved and beat the young guys to death. Dunbar has played a extremely tough schedule with a very young team and are 11-15 and the 11th region is way tougher than the 5th IMO.
