I was there had a court side view and there should not have been a foul called. This game should have went into overtime and decided by the athletes and coaches and not the refs. Great game. One of the best I've seen this year. GC played their hearts out and has nothing to be ashamed of. SO is full of talent and if they play as a team should win tonight. Good luck SO in the championship tonight.

I am going with Ryle on this one. Moss is an exceptional player but these 2 teams have played twice already and its been great games each time so the nod goes to Ryle on this one. Also hard to beat a good team 3 times in one year.

Congrats Mike!! You will do a great job!! He is a great ref and so is his younger brother. They are both 2 of the best in the state.

The interference in the coaching comes from the board office in both girls and boys basketball.

I don't think preparation was lacking in this game. Tibbs is an incredible player. She will go ACC, SEC, or Big East. She is that good. I can see Scott winning it all, especially if they play like they did last night. You can have the best game plan in the world but EXECUTION has to happen. Shooting less than 25% against a team like Scott is not executing and you will not win.

Mason shot around 20% for the game and less than 14% in the second half. I'm not an expert but coaches can't shoot for the girls. Also, Scott had 1 foul called in the whole first half. I am surprised that the coach didn't get a tech earlier than he did, let's face it no team plays a perfect game and not foul!! (Not at all saying that the refs caused the loss, Lauren Tibbs is a MAJOR D 1 player and she deserves the credit!!) They double and triple teamed her, but to no avail.

I have a 10 year old girl and an 8 year old boy and I absolutely DREAD the day that they have to "choose" a sport. They each play 2-3 sports and some sports they have played on multiple teams during that season (their choice). I couldn't imagine them choosing at this age and playing all year round in one sport bc with both of them they will choose whatever season it is at the time. They are kids, they don't know what they want to play right now. You might as well ask them to declare their college major. Let them decide what they want to play and play the games as they are meant to be played...FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME.

Another nice large gym is located in Henry County in the 8th region. If I'm not mistaken it may be the largest in the state. The 8th regional tourney is held here every year.

Would love to see a repeat of this game for regional championship. Good luck to both teams. Great game.

I have a question about POY Award. I thought it went to the best senior since that player gets an auto tryout for KY IN All Stars. I may be wrong but I was told that several years ago to make sure that players from rural regions were given the chance to try out. Just wondering if anyone has the answer. Thanks.

Another thing to remember is that the voting is over before sweet 16 begins. They don't announce it until after the tourney. At least that is how its been in the past.

She is a tremendous athlete and player. She deserves the accolades.

Mason has been plagued with injuries early this season. Soph starter B. Menke missed several games with an ankle, 8th grader Mackenzie Butler is having ACL surgery today and Mason played last night without senior starter Beth Queen (who was out with an injury but will start back practicing this week). This team will only get better. Fun to watch. Good win for the Lady Royals but the 10th is going to be the place to be come tourney time. Anyone know where the 10th girls regional tourney will be played? Is the boys in Northern Kentucky again this year?
