This was one of the best high school regular season games that I have seen in many years. The atmosphere was more like that of a regional championship. It was standing room only. Great up tempo game. Fun to watch. Even with the 10 point plus lead thru a lot of the game, you never thought South was out of it. Great game.

I just think if there is something that I can do to give them a little advantage when they hit the real world, I as a parent want to do it!! I think an extra year at home under our supervision is only a positive thing. But that's just the way I parent, I am not one that is pushing my kids to grow up and get out. I have never heard someone say that I really wish that I hadn't held my child back or wish I hadn't been held back as a child. I do, however, hear it in reverse a lot. My decision is to hold my child back so she is repeating the 4th grade now.

I don't feel that holding my child back and letting her spend another year at home under my supervision and let her be a little older before she hits the real world is wasting a year of anyone's life. My daughter is in the 4th grade, she plays sports but I want her to be 19 going to college and not 18. My decision. I was held back, was National Honor Society, and was awarded a athletic/ academic scholarship. Probably would have happened even if I had graduated a year earilier but I was a lot more prepared for college and real world because I wasted a year at home with my family.

Not sure, I heard he played with the kids from North Oldham during the summer. He even started out the school year there but got home sick after a few weeks and came back to Shelby County. Great kid, great skills, great athlete.

Shelby has a team of athletes but they do not play well as a team. A couple of them have some bad attitudes. One player that is been a real class act and a great player in the regional tourney was the freshman!! I think his name is Hicks. Look out for him at Rupp, he is going to have an amazing career. Very unassuming player that is fun to watch.

Great accomplishment. If I remember correctly, when John and Todd played, the MVP was not announced, they were just part of the all tournament team. Not sure when they actually started announcing. Also, interesting bit of trivia. These are 4 of the best players to come out of the 15th region in the last 30 years and they come from just 2 schools. Painstville for John and JR and Shelby Valley (which is a combo school of what was Virgie and Dorton) for Justice and May.
