Any new news on the PC job? Will they have to wait 30 days before interviews begin? I look for someone to be in place before summer camps start. Rice does have a good team returning at Southwestern,but PC will have a good team returning also. That could weigh in his decision to move, if offered the job.

Heard today that PC was looking outside the region as well as inside and that a current coach in the 12th region was contacted or had made contact and was being highly considered. Anyone else heard any other news about this position?

Heard today that due to teaching jobs, they had to stay within district. Also heard that Tussey was going to Belfry as head coach and Amanda Collins Stiltner would be at Pike Central. Not sure if this is a fact or just someones thoughts. With all the budget cuts, this may well be the way it has to go.

Who is HC? Henry Clay, Henderson Co., Holy Cross, etc.

This is a moot point, because nothing is going to change anyway, no matter what idea or scenario anyone poses. It seems like on all discussions about changes its about All A schools, why do they get an opportunity to play in 2 state tournaments and no one else does? There are some regions especially in the east that the same (A) school goes to both tournaments in the same year and on occasion an A school wins the sweet 16 as evident last year. I feel in an effort to not appear biased against small schools, we have allowed them to have additional benefits and exposure. What about the 2A schools who barely missed the cutoff, should we have a tourney for the almost All A. I feel everyone should have a tournament in their class or no one should.

Most regions only have 16 teams or less, there are only a few 5 team districts left in the state, if more than 16 you could have a play in game like the ncaa does with the bottom 2 teams. As far as regular season games being tied up, looking at some of the schedules on the khsaa, most teams play 10-12 games against their region anyway. So your only adding a few opponents. Ive heard talk that teams are going to be encouraged to play closer to home next year because of gas prices and othr financial problems. Most teams play their district opponents twice during regular season, by playing them once, you can add other teams in those dates. Two holiday tournaments can get you an extra 8 games counting as two, that leaves 6 dates to play competition outside your region. Total count would be 15 regional games and 14 games outside the region, if you traveled for your holiday tourneys.

How about this idea? Do away with the district tournaments, have all teams play each other once during regular season 1\2 home 1\2 away alternating each year. Seed these teams according to regional record, have one tourney with all 16 teams participating, at various sites or one neutral site, doesn't matter, and split the proceeds evenly or pro-rated according to how many games a team participates in. That would really make the regular season count for something. Just a thought.

As far as moving the game to 6;00, both schools agreed to this earlier in the day. According to a friend of mine whose daughter is on SW team, he states all players are healthy and injury free. It is my understanding that coaches have no say so in cancelling games, the principals, athletic directors, transportation directors and superintendents would have that authority. I'm sure both teams were prepared to play tonight. I agree with warrior 69, losing a little gate money compared to a childs life is a small price to pay. By the way, it was snowing at 7pm and continues to do so at the present time.

I've heard some names mentioned for the Betsy Layne job. Don't want to mention them now as I can't verify them. Some are current coaches (boys and girls) some are former coaches. Any one have any info to add?

Hey Slink, how about one more losing prediction for the lady warriors. That might be a good luck charm for SW. To be such a loyal fan, why are you against the girls bb team. Win or lose tonight, (it will be a tough game, if both teams continue to play like they have the last two games) the SW fans are very proud of our team and coaches. They have already accomplished more than most people thought they would. I feel that SW or Wayne County will be a fine representative of the 12th region. Good luck to the Lady Warriors and may both teams stay injury free.

Slink, how do you know Coach Rice? Do you work with him? By the way, will Dunbar improve that football record next year? I would guess so. Do you think their coaching staff will return next year? I suppose all teams on their schedule hope so , since they all had success against them. I know who you are, we all love your support of the SWHS sports programs.

Marion County has a good football team this year so I wouldn't expect a blow out in this game...they aren't PC. I think Boyle will win this one in a close game. Boyle- 28 Marion-20
