If you had the choice of anyone in the 12th region on your team, who would your starting five be? Also, who are your preseason picks to win region?

 

Wayne, Mercer, Southwestern should be the top teams and depending the tempo McCreary plays will determine how they fair. This will be a very young team, minus possibly the best player in the region in Lindsey Waters.

 

They bring a load of freshman in that were one of the best middle school teams in the state, beating Wayne, Whitley County, Meece, and winning the Lake Cumberland Tournament, Cumberland County Tournament, and going 28-6 in the season.

I don't know if they were at full force when they played their opening game against McCreary last year. McCreary stomped them by 15 but Rock went on to win the regions.

Rockcastle and Wayne will be the two top teams with Mercer third.

SW will be pretty good, too. Return 7 of their top 9 players.

Southwestern's lady warriors should very well be contenders this year for the region. They are led by 2 great senior in Chasidy Zimmerman and Jasi Flynn and loads of talent that have been starting since they were 8th graders. Now they are getting older and playing very well together. So expect great things from this team and teams to follow from the lady warriors.

i also agree Southwestern will / should be pretty tough this yr. I believe they should put some pressure on the boys coach Mr. Fothergill to coach the varsity girls !!

What does Lincoln County and Coach Story have returning? Do they have a dog in this fight?

Lincoln could be anywhere between 3-8. They have a good group returning and looked pretty good at times this summer in the games I saw them play.

Give Coach Story time to put his staple on the program and they will be back at the top in the region. I believe they have alot of underclassmen this year that will log the majority on the minutes played.

Lady Warriors should be pretty good. Unless they all get hurt from slipping on the tobacco spit on the floor.

Well, Scott Co is one, if not the best team in the state this season. Even though getting beat by thirty is never good for their attitude, I think this shows that S'western will be a top 15 team in the STATE this season.
