Corbin beat Whitley 37 - 0 in 1983. I have the newspaper. I am positive the 2 teams played '79 - '83, and I think they played every year up until '85 or so. Whitley ended the series and has refused to play Corbin several times since. With that said I see no reason not to agree to a home and home contract in 13/14. I think a Corbin schedule that included Whitley, Knox, North, South, Williamsburg and Lynn Camp would be great along with the 4 district games...

End zone seats were empty for the most part. Sideline seats were full. It was plenty loud......

Maybe I could just call you up and get you to add a "s" for me, or if I have trouble spelling a word maybe I could give you my pass word so you can correct it for me. Maybe if you would open your eyes you could see the prices stated clearly.... General Admission $7, Reserved $8, Floor $15. If you don't believe me call 258-2020 and ask them. The $8 general admission and $9 reserved seats are through ticketmaster. Do you not get compensated for sitting courtside? Or do you do this on a volunteer basis? If you are a volunteer then you would be entitled to a free meal. I can appreciate you debating my post, the same as I have debated yours. But the personal attacks on me and Scott Baio is another story, uncalled for, when you don't know either of us. I am from Corbin and could care less where the tournament is held at. I will defend it when false statements are made about it as I would any venue.

Maybe one long, but not 3. I stood in a corner for the last 2 OTs and could see fine. I drove to the arena earlier today and bought tickets for $8 reserved seats. General admission was $7 which included corner seats. They might should consider making those $5 except for championship games. But, anyone could pretty much sit where they pleased. I know it was a Corbin crowd and a very exciting game, but I thought it was an awesome atmosphere tonight.........and by butt didn't get sore from sitting on the wood bleachers.:clap: One idea on the tournament shirts would be to sell them in the colors of the schools participating in addition to the generic gray and white. And maybe some people in the seating areas selling drinks, programs and shirts.....

That 4 miles is a huge difference. Cost another $8 in gas to travel that far....:deadhorse:

BUT, why do you state SO MANY FALACIES before this statement? The view? The concessions? The hospitality room? Even the atmosphere.....Please explain your earlier statements that we know are absolutley FALSE. You stated that they charged fifty cents for mustard when there is a 1 gallon jug available that you could probably walk out the front door with if you wanted. After reading your statement earlier today I even stood in all 4 corners (the furthest point from the floor) and could see perfect. And if memory serves me right the sight wasn't decided at the beginning of the season...

Thank you for that, forgot that one. Big dispensers of mustard, ketchup and even popcorn flavoring off to the side of the concession stand.

You are a JOKE....:ohbrother: I went to the game tonight, the atmosphere was as good as any regional tournament that I have attended. And......get this.....I was 2 rows from the back row in section 106 and could see perfect, I could even read the team names and numbers on jerseys without binoculars or telescopes!! Unreal! Didn't even feel as though I was going to have a nose bleed. No long lines for a restroom. When we arrived about 6:10 pm it was a breeze getting up the hill, had parking lot attendants directing me to where available spots were and, had attendants directing me to the proper door to enter. There was a couple of people that even got the information needed to purchase tickets BEFORE attempting entry into the wrong door. I also got a little thirsty and went to the concession stand and got a 16 oz. pepsi and a popcorn which was larger than the average size bag found at most gyms and it came in an easy to handle cup intead of a bag:popcorn: and I didn't even have to pawn anything to purchase this, let alone sell my house :confused:.....I think it was $4.00 could have been $4.50, I paid with a 5 and got change back. Yeah if the game was held at a hot and cramped highschool gym I could have saved probably 50 cents on the concessions maybe $1 on admission. I even had enough cash left over to stop at the bottom of the hill and have a couple of brews and some food at Applebees along with a few Bell Co. fans. I never got kneed in the back, elbowed in the side or had some fat guys butt in my face going down the isle. The city of Corbin nor Corbin High School had anything to do with the operation of this tournament. With that said, the Arena had nothing to do with the programs nor the hospitality room should not be blamed on either as they had nothing to do with either. Paying broadcasting right fees does not entitle you to free food. I would be willing to bet anything that your radio station made a LOT more money from advertisers than they paid to broadcast the tournament. Besides, the press and the referees are the only people getting paid (other than arena staff). Buy your own food! Highway 119 is a terrible road to drive, that 30 or so mile stretch of road between Pineville and Harlan is one of the worst drives you can make. 25 is an interstate compared to 119. I have traveled 119 5 times in the past 2 years and have witnessed or been held up in traffic 4 of the 5 times due to a serious accident. Coincidence? Maybe....but??.... And, BTW, picking on someone for mispelling a word is so juvenile, but we can't all be perfect now can we?

Congrats to the Falcons on the miracle. I guess since most of the Ft. C. players actually live in Tennessee that is where the game should be played. But that's for another topic. Nice season Murray......

Did we get a little out of our offense? It did sound as though we did on the radio. I know the halftime stats had us out-gaining Pburg by around 100 yards and dominating time of possesion, but P'burg dominating the scoreboard.... sometimes it just happens that way. Not an upset by any means, but Corbin had their opportunities. My opinion....(which means squat)...late in the 2nd qtr, why give it to to Taylor on 4th and 1? :confused: , ride your horse not your pony....Turning point of the game, IMO.....Watkins was the best player on the field in every game Corbin played this year and was treated as such by most opposing teams, but not by our coaching staff. Nice season Hounds. Good luck to the Blackcats. I feel they have the best chance from this side of the state to upset Ft. Campbell....

I think our PA announcer got Shelby Valley fired up. 23-0 mid way through the 1st quarter. He gave the score and said "......Corbin 23 (pause) SV (pause) zero". The zero was as if he was making fun of SV then some on the Corbin side gave a little laugh.... They were a different team after that, scoring 20 before the half and holding Corbin scoreless. The second half SV had 1 drive where they moved the ball. The TD in the 2nd half was a kickoff return by # 19.

Corbin jumps out 23-0, then gives up 20 unanswered. 23-20 at the half. First play from scrimmage was a 65 yard td run by Caleb Watkins....

Looks as though it could be an interesting game. SV has 2 1,000 yard backs (1,600 & 1,400) and the QB has close to 700 yards on the ground. Over 4,400 yards rushing while only allowing 1,400. This should be a better game than most think.

I'm sure Watkins and Fritts would have been available if this game would have been a little deeper in the playoffs?? I think Watkins had a sore toe. Fritts might have been unavailable, I heard his condition was not an injury. Nice win Hounds. What point did the JV play? I left in the 3rd quarter..... Should be a good game next week with Shelby Valley coming to town. I hope we have a better crowd....
