Somerset plays a great game and came away clean on injuries. Belfry will now make the long track to Somerset next friday. :dancingpa

Tuesday is my last official day:cry: . I've really enjoyed the children and hate to move on. I hope to one day to be back in the system. If I have my choice I would pick the same school.

I think that the AD at Somerset should have a pretty good handle on how things operate. It is obvious that your going to back Hines no matter what he sais. All of your complaints above have been answered justly and professionally. I said in the thread that got shut down, if Hines, you or anyone else from Pulaski feels that wrongdoing has been done by Somersets part---just simply don't come back and play in the Ray Correll Bowl. I would hate for this to happen, but I also hate that after such hard work from several people and organizations including both SHS and SW that here is were we stand!!!

I have already stated my opinion why this game meant more to Pulaski. Pulaski has been reeling from 4 wins combined the last two year and needed a benchmark win to get this season started on a positive note. Hopefully this victory will lead them in a postive direction for the rest of the season. As for Pulaski winning a regional championship if they played in Somersets region, I think it would be a huge disappointment for a Class AAAA team not to win a Class A regional title. Whose making excuses for Somersets loss, not myself and I don't recall anyone else making excuses except Coach Jay Cobb. His excuse was that he dropped the ball and didn't have his team ready. Thats an excuse I can live with!

Lets wait and see how the defense plays tomorrow night before we start putting Lee Corso in the backfield.:lol: There's no doubt that the Jumper DB's better grow real quick.

For one I don't know the answer, I'm not Somerset's AD. Seems to me you are trying to sidestep Coach Hines blatent mistake by turning attention away from Pulaski. I'm not buying it This thread is about Bob Tuckers response to Coach Hines' misleading remarks. Like I've already stated, Coach Hines has done nothing more than tarnish a deserving hard fought win against Somerset. Instead of celebrating a quality win we are getting this.

I don't think that anyone from Pulaski that will carefully read the Hines article can have much of a defense for him. It has increasingly become obvious that he stated several mistruths. As for Cobb, IMO he didn't jab at Pulaski any, Cobb took full responsibility for his teams defeat.

I don't think that's what Coach Cobb meant at all. Although this game was huge for both teams, I do agree that this meant much more to the Pulaski program. Pulaski has won only 4 games combined the last two years and beat a two time Regional Champ--who just happens to be Somerset your biggest rival. My point being that this game has given Pulaski a much needed win over a quality opponent and will now hopefully carry over to larger success in the district this year.

I truly wish that I have been more active in my now long tenure as a member of BluegrassPreps and had the opportunity to meet LSU Rock by face or by words. He always sounded like a true high school sports fan who loved the game for the children. A very appropriate gesture by Trinity.

These games are really about the kids playing, not us crazy adults. It just gives us old guys (and gals) something to argue and talk about. It sure is fun.:banana: :banana:

As to Bob Tucker's response, I feel it was done perfectly! As Hardball said, Tucker representing Somerset chose to take the appropriate road--the high road. Bob was very professional in ALL of his responses. One of my concerns is that this will spill over into a daily barrage of attacks in the opinion section of the Commonwealth Journal. I do expect to see some letters but feel that Bob's response has taken some of the pressure off from the Somerset side. There's little doubt that Johnny had/has other motives with his article. It is obvious that the loser will be him and his players which is a shame. This does little more than take the spotlight off of there hardfought and deserved victory.

Let me say this to all posters on this thread. It is certain on here that we will all not agree 100% on this matter, for the most part those above me have been very constructive in their responses and I truly appreciate that. For those of you who have not please clean it up. After sending a Mod a PM I learned that the 1st thread os this subject was closed due to cheap shots being taken at each other. We need to keep it clean so those of us who enjoy typing in this forum can without it getting shut down.

All of your post have been class acts and this is no exception. :thumb: If others would take their blinders off for a moment they would also see that Johnny has crossed the line on this one.

They continue to play because of the revenue this event puts in their athletic programs. Also add that both SW and PC are basically getting another home game type atmosphere every year on there schedule without taking away a home game from there schedule. Thus one less away game that they have to travel to or one more home game, however you want to look at it. I like the Ray Correll Bowl and the way it is put on. I think that all involved benefit from the event both financially and from the fan stand point. I'm not for sure if Pulaski helps any with the coordination but do know that SW helps tremendously with there JROTC program working the parking detail. For those of you who went would say that is no small task with all of the people that attended--would like to know a figure. As for your statement suggesting Somerset jumped classes to avoid competition, we could argue this until the Guru personally makes a trip to Somerset and unplugs our computers himself. Somerset still has the likes of Breathitt Co, Russell, Prestonsburg, and Belfry to deal with on a yearly basis. PC has beaten Somerset 2 out of 3 times in the Ray Correll Bowl, anyone with any football sense looking from the outside would say that PC should beat Somerset most of the time each teams play, as of yet this has not happened (overall record). This is a true testiment to how well the Somerset program is and the support it gets from the community- a much smaller school annually competing with much larger schools. You claim that the article sais what many others wanted to say, please tell me what this is? Imo this bowl is a class act bowl that showcases all three local school in one night. Johnny has done nothing more than try to start an uproar among the two programs, his problems should have been handled between the two AD's, not the Commonwealth Journal. What were going to get now is people taking cheap shots at each other in the Opinion section of the paper.
