At one time McCreary Co. did play some in the LCYFL but hasn't in the last several years.

Does the Danville/Pulaski Co. game start at 6:00?

Imo the field and complex is in its best shape in the last 20 years. There have been a tremendous amount of work done on the field, track, bleachers, fencing, and restrooms. For all attending to get to the visitor side this year you will have to walk around the outside of the track on the north side-just like Admiral Stadium. Since the track has completely been refinished they have added fencing around the track to the visitor section.

Looking forward to going myself. The organizers have done a tremendous job this year getting ready for the Ray Correll Bowl and after several years of being neglected the football complex is once again one of the states elite.

Danville can name the score in this game. I think that the only excitement for the Ad fans will be the tailgating in the parking lot. I think that several booths will be set up giving away things for fans of all four teams.

I'm not picking one side or the other yet on this issue, but I am with you on this! These teams were big time district rivals, I was looking forward to playing each other again.

From my observations Somerset has a potent offense that just needs to work out a few things. I'm not going to worry to much about putting points on the board. It's the defensive side that shows some major concerns, we simply put got pasted by Franklin Co. in the 1st half. The defense just simply put needs to hit someone, way too much arm tackling. Heard an astounding number of 64 missed tackles last week. Hoping that Cobb can pull a RABBIT out of his hat for the week

Very good post! :thumb: . I've tried to be conservative with my post on this subject just for the reason that Somerset has been somewhat of the scapegoat for the P/P debate. I'm still curious though for the official reason that Somerset petitioned for the class move up.

I see the point and I would say the same would be true for Somerset as far as advancing further. But I couldn't imagine this would be the reason stated to the KHSAA when both schools made there formal request to move up.

Thats one good possible answer, but Somerset Ind. School have had the same boundries for many years. I don't see the school system growing much any time soon. Imo, if Somerset Ind. Schools are to grow it will be because the Science Hill area continues to grow with new homes (population). The reason for this is because Science Hill only has grades K-8, then students have the option to go to Pulaski Co. or Somerset.

I raise to you the same question as with Somerset, why move up? Why is moving up a good move?

Not for sure which region Somerset is in but the boys and girls both won the region.

I agree, this has to be one of the worst setups that I have every heard of. With all of the teams spending the money and time for the trip, this is just a joke. It would be a safe bet that some regional winners will think twice before coming next year and I don't blame them.

May be, but I'm not going to throw that out on the plate yet before until I know more. Myself I liked the 2A district line-up with Corbin, Middlesboro, Leslie Co., and Knott Co. Central. A very competitive district where you better bring it every Friday night. Not knocking any opponent in the 3A Somerset district, but it's not hard to notice that most have a tough time reaching .500 every year.

As much as I wish for Somerset to be in the Mountain Top Ten, after the performance against Franklin Co I don't think that we are anywhere close!!! Much has to happen for Somerset to even see the bottom of the top ten again.

I'm curious to why Somerset moved to 3A? Seems to me that we are in a much easier district and that for the most part 3A is much easier than 2A. I do see that for the most of our district games are much closer, but is that enough to petition for a class change. I was thinking that if Somerset were in 2A, then we would have been the second smallest school.

My prediction: Southwestern 35 / Somerset 24. Somerset will have to improve in several areas to hang with Southwestern this year. Southwestern seemed to have a much improved passing game and Somerset just got throttled (to say the least) throught the air by Franklin Co. Good luck to all teams in the Ray Correll Bowl!

Franklin Co. looks to have a good group of receivers with speed and a very nice runner out of the backfield. Line looks very good also, Somerset can't put any pressure on Ammons.

At the half it is Franklin Co. 56 Somerset 17 :cry: . Ammons is the real deal, 4 rushing tds and 1 passing. Franklin Co. has 470 yards of offense in the 1st half.
