THE WEATHER!! Tournament was cancelled after only a few holes at Arlington CC in Richmond due to a huge thunderstorm, and continued rain thereafter. Word is they won't reschedule due to various conflicts the remainder of the season. Congratulations to the Regional Winners!!

You are correct BG, they are not going to reschedule this event. I think that is sad. This is by far the worst set-up I have ever seen for a state tournament. Some teams passed up on playing in big time invationals this weekend to play in this and because it rains they have to forfeit thier chance at some state points or even a chance to play. Not only that, some schools put up alot of money to send thier teams down to Arlington(alot of schools were there for practices rounds, hotels, food, etc.) to have a chance to represent themselves and thier school and they were robbed of that chance. I think that is pathetic to set something like this and be so disorganized. Just my opinion.

You're not the only one to express similar thoughts RA. Sad for the kids, in particular the seniors who won't have a "NEXT YEAR". I'm not sure why they couldn't reschedule the event. I'm very surprized, having been around and heard many comments about the All "A" basketball, baseball, cheerleading, and soccer; at how poorly organized this event seemed to be!! Information seemed to be at a premium before the tourney, and while no one can control the weather; a better or more timely resolution should have been able to be achieved!! Again, I just feel for the kids and parents; especially those who traveled so far!!

 

I'd be surious to know if the girl's event across town, was as poorly executed, and suffered a similar fate??

I agree, this has to be one of the worst setups that I have every heard of. With all of the teams spending the money and time for the trip, this is just a joke. It would be a safe bet that some regional winners will think twice before coming next year and I don't blame them.
