From what I gather Hayes called all the plays last year and the head coach didn't call any of the plays for South Laurel last year. I believe he coached a Defensive position as well as being the head coach, but then again I could be wrong.

Every year at South Laurel on average there will be 40 or more kids try out for basketball. The basketball team keeps how many? 13 to 15 tops give or take a few, the other 20 to 25 kids go home and practice basketball for next years tryouts instead of playing football where everyone makes the team. Most of these kids could be good high school football players with the opportunity to play. That's not even getting into the ones who play basketball who could compete for a scholarship in football but may have no chance in receiving any looks in basketball due to size and or talent.

I have heard that they have narrowed the search for head coach down to two candidates.

I talked to Mo and he did not apply. Mo left Hazard for North Broward Prep School in FLorida as Head Coach, and has spent the past few years at NG in Georgia as DC under Spires. The coach who applied is an assistant for Bob Spire.

Not for sure on the name but I believe it is one of Bob Spires assitants from North Gwinnett Georgia that followed Spire down from Lexington Cath.

Dark Horse- CU is very well represented in high school football.

He teaches special education. He is a good friend of mine. I have tried to several years for him to join me. He will put in the work to make Harrison County successful. I wish him nothing but the best!! Until he plays my team.
