  1. Thats what I've been trying to say, atleast someone else see's the humor. Scruggs for HC might be the most underrated defender in NKY.
  2. Scott very well could win. But going into this game, there is no argument HC has the better credentials to claim number one.
  3. All I know unless Sharp hit 6ft out of nowhere he is not 2 or 3 inches taller than anyone. Howard will have a double/double but as stated above that alone will not beat HC. Steeken and Busse are both better than their counterparts.
  4. I'm pretty sure most could get what I implied, who greased your monkey tonight? Bottom line when half your starters wouldn't start for most teams in NKY, yoru gonna struggle against elite competion. Not to mention when yoru star guard is guarding post players.
  5. UK can't do that against the number 1 team in the country.
  6. HC should be favorite in this game, main problem for HC in this game is, most the players probably care more about the CCH game coming up. Although I'm sure Busse wouldn't mind to have a huge game.
  7. How does sharp have more size? I'm telling you right now outside of maybe Elliot Howard hasn't seen a stronger post player than Scruggs. Ask some of the big guys in NKY who have bruises after the game after being guarded by Scruggs.
  8. OJ and Bill probably were best two players. But when the rest of your lineup can't hit the broad side of the barn it doesn't help. The role players for NCH couldn't hit wide open layups or jumpers. They settled down in the 2nd half and thats why it became a better game. Serisously I don't think 2 of th NCH's starters could start for the top teams in NKY. You can't win basketball game when 3 of your starters combine for 7-10 pts. OJ was the best player on the floor tonight, and Walker was the best athlete.
  9. LOL wow you would think HC is bottom dweller. A team that has won 10 of its last 11 games, looks like they shouldn't show up. 1. Howard great post player, watched him a few times. But to say HC has now answer is going back to what I've said ever week. Scruggs offensively may not score as much, but defensivly has held some of the best big men in this area in check. He has played well against Brossart, NCC, Highlands, and CCH to name a few. HC is not a huge, tall wise team. But there overall height is not to bad when 4 out of 5 starters are all about 6'2. 2. Sharp is not a better player than Lantry right now. Anyone who makes that comment has not seen Lantry play. He is stronger, a good defender, and has handled pressure from alot better pg's than Sharp, such as Jefferson and Voriees. 3. Its going to be a tough win, with it being Scott's Senior night. The X factor in the game is McCord. HC holds him in check they win. HC 66 Scott 61
  10. I just noticed on their roster that they have 2 kids from KY. Matt Scherbenske #4 6’1” Guard Senior From: Lexington KY Alberto Jackson #33 6’10” Center Senior From: Earlington, KY Anybody familiar with these players?
  11. I"ve heard thats where he will end up but as of Friday he was still in the Holmes System.
  12. Don't you think HC's defense dictated this though?
  13. It wouldn't be a GT night if he didn't.
  14. Voriees is not a show stopper on defense, and Tyler Mains might be the best PG that no one around the state is talking about. After watching Pendelton play a couple times this year, I would take Mains over Duran Jefferson. Also I didn't get to knock a couple down prior as planned, but after the game I made my way down the alley to GT.
  15. Its to my understanding Arez Henderson got hurt and did not play the 2nd half. Kind of hard to beat anyone without both Rice and Arrez.
  16. A couple of notes on Voriees he is a good High School player. But he is not better than Duran Jefferson. Voriees can not control the tempo of the game like Duran. Secondly I read on here where it was Voriees crossover that is his best move. I would disagree, his crossover is average. His go to finish move is his reverse pivot/spin move when he has the ball in his right hand. I think Goetz noticed that half through the game and adjusted, I'm hoping most High School basketball coaches in the 9th have scouted that by now. I saw it in the first 5 minutes of the game. Also I'm still laughing that someone is trying to say HC got help from the refs. Myself and a couple of other former HC basketball players were worried before the game on the very reason who the ref crew was. The crew had never done an HC home game in any recent memory of mine and only one of them had reffed a HC home game that I can remeber. HHS showed me last night they will not be able to guard Tyler Mains man to man.
  17. I wasn't at the Holmes vs HHS game but did they play a man to man defense against them? HHS doesn't look like they have the team speed to guard a Holmes, CCH, or HC. They play over aggresive and HC kept finding the open swing pass for a wide open shot.
  18. LOL anyone who thinks the CCH vs HC game isn't going to be a battle needs to wake up. CCH is the favorite but they only beat HC by 6 early this season. The refs were not on HC side. If anything in the 3rd quarter you could argue HC couldn't buy a call. HC was down because of poor shooting, if you want to say HC got help from Highland. There won't be many game where Nick Steeken misses 4 wide open 3's in a quarter, so lets not talk about what ifs. I don't think HC players are happy with just showing up against CCH.
  19. Sour Grapes? Here our some points of the game. 1. HC came out scoring and up big in first half, Highlands is not fast enought and can not play man to man defense against HC. As I stated before the game HC gave them more match up problems than Highlands. 2. I applaud Coach Schlarman to going to his gimmick defense late 2nd half and 3rd quarter to get his team the lead. 3. HC is for real. How can a bluebird fan complain about refs letting them play. If they called every bump Ben G would never of made out of the first quarter the way he was guarding Steeken. Please I do not want to hear this. It was bad both ways, if the refs knew what a charge was Voriees would of been called on a couple in the 3rd quarter. 4. I'm not saying HC will beat CCH, but I think this win let CCH know they better come to play 5. I can't believe how much better Corey Sorrel makes this team.
  20. GT II will be getting my service, i don't know if i'm going to walk up the alley to the game yet.
  21. Was that a shot at BigStud
  22. I think he picked them to lose by 10 to sk as well.
