  1. Yes. Saw the games. I watched both Lex Cath games against South Oldham and against Madison Central. Saw Novosell put up solid numbers in both games. Even a thunderous dunk on a helpless South Oldham defender in the semi's. We were both right! But you got the winner.
  2. I already know the name Jordan Smart. He has a very nice stroke and he is a very disciplined player in terms of offensive understanding. He is great at moving without the ball and can spot up and release as quickly as any upper-classman. He will get better. Botkins will be just fine at the point. Don't expect any big numbers in the point lines or even the stat lines overall. This is relatively good news since you won't see any big number in the TO column for Botkins. LC is a methodical team and are well-coached year-in and year-out. Madison Central is playing better now and I expect a close game. I would hate to have shooterx3 with the upper hand in our debates here.
  3. Novosell did play in the J Town event against Manual as it was mentioned on a thread. Since you gave your pick and point spread, I will say madison Central by 3 points. It is not Novosell that is Lex Cath main issue. It's their inexperience in the backcourt that is their shortcoming in these summer games. That is why I am stating that by season or during the season, Lex Cath will be a much stronger contender for the 11th region once their backcourt gains some practice and game experience.
  4. South Laurel lost to Hazard??? Who has Hazard won and lost to this year during league, tourney, and team camp (if you know)?
  5. What are the other results? Was this only an 8 team event? Post the results.
  6. No surprise with Slaughter leading Kentucky in points either, since no one was going to go inside against Indiana anyways. I honestly thought the score would have been more lopsided even without Mr. Oden. Anyone with the Box Scores?
  7. First and foremost, the Faulkner kid will be back. An injury like the one sustained will heal in time and he will be back on the court and playing the game. I am certain of that. I believe there is 3 Oldhams (North, South, Oldham). I like Lexington Catholic chances, but as Manual showed in the J Town shootout, they are not as dominant yet as I believe they will be during the coming season. Hard to believe that a team coached by Trinity's Szabo could be throttled by nearly 40 points. Madison Central has been impressive in this tourney too. Novosell will be the key.
  8. Shooter, Madison Central and Lex Catholic in the finals, I might just go with Madison Central here. South Oldham knocking off PRP and JTown today, either South Oldham has gotten better or PRP and J Town are not going to be as good as most expected Albeit, it is summer, but this is noteworthy.
  9. Lexington Catholic beat Trinity by nearly 40 points. J Town was knocked out of its own tourney last week by Manual and now they were knocked out of this tourney by South Oldham. A repeat is not in the works for J-Town.
  10. Mason County is out. Left is Lexington Catholic, South Oldham, Shelby Valley, and Madison Central. Not the final four most people thought there would be, but this is summer ball.
  11. It's getting interesting now. Sure, Haddix can make those jaw-dropping plays, but at 6'2" what spot would Haddix play at any D-1 school? Certainly not the 1 or 2 spot, not enough handles for the perimeter. Maybe the 3, but at 6'2" (I know you may push for 6'3") Haddix is not not the top college prospect either. With Walls, you do have a solid leader and winner and he will be consistant in the overall stat line. Jeremy Anderson of Warren Central is a 2 or 3 spot player and a pure shooter. He has the strength and offensive skills to play at the next level, but its his quickness they will be questionable when having to defend the 2 and 3 spots. Again, Pettigrew is the best player in the state. He would get my vote for Mr. Basketball. He is a pure 4 spot player and does have limited perimeter skills. At 6'5" he will be considered a short for any major D1 program. Like shooterx3 said, several of these players play for the DS Allstars. I believe they will be headed for Vegas and the Super 64 and then on to LA for the Main Event tourney if I am not mistaken. Pettigrew will get a chance to demonstrate what caliber of prospect he truly is.
  12. The point is it would take a blown knee or a car wreck to slow Pettigrew down. There are other players out there such Ty Proffitt of South Laural, Matt Walls of Scott County (who I believe would come out ahead of Haddix in the voting even if Haddix is eligible), that could certainly make a case for Mr. Basketball. Pettigrew can score, defend, pass, and rebound in all categories with anyone in the state. There is one mistake I have certainly made here and that is I have not taken in consideration in one of Kentucky's notion when it comes to Mr. Basketball. And that is, not always does the best senior player and performer wins the award. Sure there will be challenger there for Pettigrew, but as today Pettigrew is the top player in Kentucky high school hoops. I am curious to what shooterx3 opinion is. Any comments or thoughts?

  14. Pettigrew would still average about 25 points and 10 boards a game and get my vote. That answer matches your feeble question, don't you agree?
  15. No surprises with the pool winners except with perhaps Shelby Valley who looks to be playing some very good basketball right now. What are the schedules for tomorrow games???
  16. Kentucky Allstars by 8. Please note that Thomas Coleman did not play for the junior team.
  17. Actually, he probably meant Pettigrew IS the 2007 Kentucky Mr. Basketball. Talking to several colleagues in Kentucky, they all agree. He is going to have a banner year and E-Town will ride his game as far as Pettigrew will take them. He is definate force.
  18. That would be great to see that Kentucky basketball would get such exposure.
  19. I highly doubt it will be a cake-walk for Ballard winning the state title in the upcoming season. From what I am seeing with the scores in the Jeffersontown Shootout and from other tourneys and summer league games in Kentucky, is that the 7th region will offer quite a few viable challengers for Ballard. I would say that several teams throughout the state not mentioned as a contender yet will have their team's name posted on the threads as having a legit shot of making it to Rupp and winning it all by mid-season.
  20. Any one with game results for the tourney? How is Lex Catholic and Novosell doing? Is J-Town looking strong for next year?
  21. The great news is that Aaron does get a scholarship to a free education and continue his hoops career. I have just a couple of questions however. First, can anyone share what type of program Union is, divison and tradition? If Aaron is one of the states "top" graduating seniors and signed for Union, what does this mean for last year graduating class's talent?
  22. I will see what I can do regarding the 2008 rankings.
  23. I would have to second or third the motion with Frankfort having a higher level of comp. The state tourney in Lexington pales to overall comp as there will be in Frankfort. However, this is summer and summer is where coaches aim to get their programs better. The more games the better if teams advance through the brackets.
