  1. Don't worry about it. The list was complied to have kids listed from all over the state to ensure that each corner of Kentucky is covered. This is for promotion of his camp. If Bolus were to rank kids legit, he would lose his ties with areas that feed kids to pay 400 and 500 bucks. These rankings are the worst. Recruiters will tell you that. Those rankings have no bearing on whether a kid gets to the next level. Bolus has zero cred in Kentucky.
  2. The rankings are way off in terms of Kentucky's true talent. If a kid does not go to Bolus's camp, he is at a tremenddous disadvantage. Pettigrew is not even in the top 5 and he has Wade neck and neck with Pettigrew. Wade averaged just at 8 points per game as a junior in the 8th Region. In the past, Bolus's rankings created a problem by having people see who Bolus has at the top and then seeing those players under perform and then they were writing the rest of Kentucky's talent off. However, most recruiters don't utilize his rankings when it comes to locating Kentucky's true talent crops. Bolus has lost a lot of credibility over the years.
  3. Take a "grain of salt" with the Bolus rankings. The basketball gurus do. They are the least respected rankings published in the state and region.
  4. May have let the Shining Stars in, but I am sure they used their Ohio mailing address. Good luck this weekend.
  5. ShooterX3...I was there at both locations in Louisville today and watched parts of 10 games. After conferring with with several people, the Hoosier Classic was the place to be in terms of gaining collegiate exposure and competition level. I saw a hand full of scouts, but nothing compared to what I saw at the classic last year and what you were stating in your post regarding this year. Only 5 Kentucky teams were at the event, all were Eddie Ford teams in various divisions. Overall, the Hoopfest did have a good start today. I do know the DS Allstars West team were knocked out in the 2nd round. How did the East do in the Hoosier even?
  6. I am hearing that his name is Beasley. Can anyone verify?
  7. It is true that summer ball should be discounted. However, I am asking whether Wade has been dismissed from the team. It is my understanding that Wade has been dismissed and it is permanant. Time will tell.
  8. AGAIN I WILL ASK, is Wade even on the Shelby County team? The work I have is that he has been dismissed from the team and did not play with SC in the DS Shootout.
  9. Is Wade still on Shelby County's team? The Derek Smith Shootout shows Shelby County was exited by Louisville Central which has been a team struggling this summer. I would say there is some substance to SK being the favored in the 8th.
  10. Nets, no need to apologize whatsoever. The post was great.
  11. Rose Hill has a 6'2" point guard by the name of Chad Jackson who many believe is the top guard in the Class of 2010.
  12. It was sarcasm in way of saying "okay, we get the message about Elliott, who are the other 8 or 9 teams in the top 10?" I have them in my top 3, but who are the other teams an talent to watch for in the coming season?
  13. There is no bashing. Just a request to know more about the other teams that are being ranked BEHIND them. After all, a ranking is subjective and people want to know why the other teams are rated behind them. Is there any other teams you feel could challenge the top 2 already mentioned???
  14. I think you went the wrong way here. The point was to try and get some feed about the other teams and talented players in the 16th. This is a statewide messageboard and forum and it would be great for the 16th if some info could desiminate to fans outside of the region about the improving strength of the region. There is some solid teams and talent coming through the 16th and even a Mr. Basketball candidate that would benefit from knowledge of the 16th and showing it is NOT one of the bottom 4 regions. There's no question that Russell and Elliott are the movers in the 16th. What about the overall depth? Let's inform the state.
  15. Precisely. Myself and others would like to see info on the other teams and learn more about the depth of the 16th. There's no question that Russell will be the marked team, but what about the depth of the 16th? There's some talent and there are some teams improving in the 16th.
  16. Elliott County will win the 16th region by an average margin of 20.3 points per victory following an undefeated regular season. With a top 10 ranking in USA Today, Elliott County will meet Scott County in the state finals. Elliott County will have the backcourt edge against Scott County and will win by single digits. The rest of the 16th is playing for 2nd.
  17. I disagree. Hazard is playing solid basketball and defeated Elliott County. As stated by many, several teams are missing starters and role players.
  18. RAO9, please note the majority of teams playing right now don't have all their players.
  19. I believe I will be making the trip down 71. This is a very solid field.
  20. Yes, Novosell brought down the house today. Did it in transition and with a defender from South mercilessly trying to impede him. Novosell does have a nice spin-move. He needs to learn the perimeter better to advance his game for the next level.
  21. The field was good, but the field was better in Frankfort. Overall, cannot complain with either. I think the most impressive feature about Scott County's run was that their side of the bracket appeared more difficult and they still dominated the field to the title game.
  22. Mackey is a 6'3" lankey wing player, Walls is a 6'2" south-paw semi-bulky point guard deliver bullitt passes, Portwood is a 6'4" kid that likes to slash and cut and pulls the boards. If Jordan Lee didn't play then the acting Chairman-of-the-Board was Portwood. Its summer play, so they may be using differing numbers than regular season. DID THIS HELP?
  23. Botkins seemed to struggle throughout the game when he was on the court(inexperience). Of course Novosell stood out. Smart played very well. Let me say this about the South Oldham team. The PG Shawn (sp) Stiles is a dang good player. For 5'9" or so, this kid just kept going and had better legs in the last minute of play than he did the first minute. He was dribble drive specialist, but he got the job done. Novosell has a quick spin move. I think he needs to continue to develop his perimeter game to further expand his game. He did work the glass in both games. Obviously, he was the difference. And yes, he had a throw-down.
  24. Name off the classes for Cox, Stepp, and Collins. I know Stepp is 2008.
