If Coach LeMaster, the most conservsative man on the face of the Earth, offered anybody a free house, then I will re-enroll in high school at Central and become the biggest Eagle fan to ever walk the Earth. There is zero chance of this being true. Anyone who knows anything about him knows better.

Well, I guess they will have to wait until Wednesday again this year. You may want to direct your complaint about the paper to one of Central's supporters, he was the one writing some of those articles in the past. :sssh:

It does go both ways, and it is pointless, no matter which side says it. I stayed away from all the "lists" and wish everyone else would, too. There are bad "apples" from both trees and they sadly get heard from a lot more than the majority of classly folks in our community.

Please tell me a year that PHS has "ran it up" against Central. I know of a few years that we could have, but instead played everyone with a jersey in the 4th. In '98 (27-0) PHS won, but it could have been much worse. Also, in '01(40-22) PHS could have hung 60 in JC but Burr pulled just about all the seniors early in the 4th. I'm glad Central has improved their football program, maybe our area will gain some more respect, we all need to learn how to handle success.

Hazard went 9-2 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to Lynn Camp. They lost a lot of players from last years team and Danville will have no trouble in this game.

Probably the most radical “Christian” group the world has ever encountered was when the Russian Empire was still expanding prior to the overthrow of the Czar in 1917. Their main reason, other than defense, for expansion was based upon the belief that “the Russian Ideal” was the only true form of Christianity(Orthodox) left in the world and it was the Russian’s job to save the rest of mankind. This was not the teachings of Marx because he stated that religion was the “opium for the masses.” So clearly he was not a religious person. With the Empire believing they were the saviors of all humanity, the ends always justified the means and the results speak for themselves.

Surely, there is a precedent set between two schools from the past with an issue like this( that is if this ever does happen, of course.)

If I had the power to decide, it would find a final resting spot at a neutral site. Rec Center? The Red Caboose on Broadway? Bottom of Paintsville Lake? Sold on E-Bay?

To borrow a line from Lee Corso "Not so fast my friend" PHS in the past has had several chances to "run it up" but didn't. Years, 1998 and 2001 come to mind. Both years PHS was much better than Central but Coach LeMaster wouldn't run it up. Once the game was decided, he pretty much tried not to score if at all possible.(putting in mass subs, as if PHS has ever really had the numbers to mass sub) Also, Coach Allen by sitting Pugh and company at the end of the 3rd against Jenkins and Allen Central, shows he also does not like to run it up.

Next season? Look at Paintsville's starting lineup. There are several players that will be returning next year. This is a young team for the most part, and a lot of our linemen our underclassmen. We lost somewhere around 24 players off of last year's team, that will hurt any 1A school.

Its all about perspective. Paintsville has been a solid 1A team for many many years. Central for the most part has been a weak 3A/4A school. That seems to be changing for Central, but Paintsville is still a threat for the regional title just about every year. Our district outside of Pikeville is a joke, no arguement here, but how many seasons was Central the butt of most jokes in 3A/4A district play. I'm glad the County is improving, good for them.

Central is looking like what a large school should look aginst 1A teams. That is a change, good for Central. As far as being over hyped: Paintsville made it to the regional finals in 1A not exactly where we wanted to end up, but I do think that Central fans had a little dose of reality whan they lost a home playoff game last year. We got a dose of reality when we played a well coached Central team and turned out to do ok, Central got their taste of reality in the playoffs and they seem to be doing ok as well.

Other than the Fairview game, Loss 28-14, there hasn't been much to talk about so far. Wins over Allen Central and Jenkins aren't exactly topics of great substance.

I don't know about the memberships, but I doubt we've jumped on the Matney Express.

2 no-no's in one season is very impressive! Heck, one in a lifetime is great! Also good to see the youngster Stacy doing well. Blanton's ole man must be very proud!

Daniel Pugh of Paintsville ran a 4.6 in th 40. With a 29" vertical leap. Not sure about his other numbers.

He had D-1 numbers in high school, and that probably lead people to think he would go D-1. However, I think his lack of size turned away the D-1 schools(too small to play HB pounds wise, and too short to play WR.) I wish him the best of luck. (I know we helped him get a lot of those D-1 numbers):creepy:

As am I!

SS and sees some time on the mound. I would rate him as one of the top hitters in the area. He is a 5 tool player. (BA average, power, defense, speed, and arm strength.) He played CF last year but moved backed to SS this year. While I am all for kids playing all sports (we are class 'A' so we need everyone) it is interesting to see how good some of these guys could be if they focused on just one sport year round.
