It is funny when people breakdown being a coach as either a recruiter or an X's and O's guys. In reality, the elite level guys can do it all. Cal is the best at getting top tier talent and getting that talent to buy into his system. Rick supposedly gets the most out of his talent but to date, only has one title and it is with arguably the most talented team of all time.
Both are great.
I don't think Goodwin was pushed out the door at all but he probably realizes that coming back next year likely means coming back for two more because of how scarce playing time could be. Wish him all the best, I think he'll get drafted in the first round.
Before Cal (8 years) - 1 Final Four (blown out), 2 Elite Eights, 2 NITs, One time eliminated in 1st round and twice in the 2nd round.
Since Cal (4 years) - 2 Final Fours (possibly a title) and twice eliminated in the 1st round of tournament.
I'd say that is a pretty significant difference.
Maybe in the past, I haven't seen it in awhile though. He has no problem letting listeners know when he is guessing or when he has something from a reliable source.
Any recent examples come to mind?
Why?
I take him very seriously. I've heard he is a pistol to deal with in person (don't care) but the site/radio show is very entertaining and informative. He doesn't pretend to know more than he does.
Now we are bringing baseball into it? I'm already lost with the football and basketball comparisons :lol2:
You would think that if you have DOUBLE the final four teams then you would lead in titles right?
