There are names coming in that are not being talked about on this thread. This job will not go begging and the principal will have a hard choice with very good candidates to decide on.

I stand by the facts I know. I did not bring this up. You will be corrected if you reread the post sequence. Regarding the field it seems the decision has been made and it was done with the interests of Campbell County students first, as it should always be.

You make a point but with ballrm, who knows better but pretends otherwise, this was not a program through the schools. It was an outside program run through a league (aau, maybe?), using the schools and when questions came up, there was no money to be found and it was claimed private funds because it was an outside group. Mr. Roberts said simply, fine but if there is no accountability there is no affiliation and use of the schools. The only people who were upset over Mr. Roberts decision were the ones who had a direct benefit with this program. Actually I think Mr. Roberts gave this group a chance to get their act together but no one would provide the questions of show me the money. If pressed hard enough ballerm and others that come to Mr. Sullivan's defense may even agree some restitution happened. Back to the mustangs but ballerm took a cheap shot and it should not be allowed. I was at the school during this time and I know these details are accurate.

But his budgets balanced and everyone knows how money was spent. Mr. Roberts did not shut down any program he made it clear the money issues were so bad it was not going to involve the school. As unpopular to a few special interests that was it was the right decision.

The removal of Mr. Sullivan was justified. Anyone around the school knows the issues. The superitendent did the right thing. Mr. Sullivan took advantage of a lot of trust in this school and some people paid a price in many ways. He is and was the problem. The new principal will make all the difference and with a few names already asking about the CCHS job, there is no question a solid name will appear. A couple being out of the area with solid and successful backgrounds. Best of luck Coach Reitz, it is hard to turn away when someone keeps coming back after being told no asking again with more dollars each time and having your son as the big carrot. We all understand and wish you well.

Band has been a drain on things since the last band director left.

I have a relative in the program and it is only open to Campbell County School students. It is starting at 3rd grade through 6th grade, I think. It is limited to school students because the school system is supporting the costs and liability insurance of the program. Very generous of the school to do that. Because it is school coordinated it is limited to those at the schools.

Knowing Mr. Roberts very well, rest assured you have it wrong but great job in keep bringing it up. I will be sure to let him know. For the rest of your grand conspiracy, I suspect you would not have the same commentary face to face with the people implied in your post above.

I asked an fellow retiree who does have a huge say on this matter currently and his comment was no. The word is the youth programs are growing, the middle school age program is growing along with the varsity program and the last thing needed is a horrible field in post season play. Also, the varsity coach will have a lot of say about this and his take is no. Lastly, it seems someone from Brossart athletics told other schools, specifically Beechwood it would be playing at CCMS. To say this did not sit well with all interested parties is probably the understatement of the year. Sounds like a repeat of a year ago. Some of the Brossart leadership just cannot help themselves.

Besides all the hyperpole and cut comments from BGGreen, I notice a very consistent response, or lack of response. So ask the gentleman directly. Mr. BGGreen, why doesn't Brossart form an alliance and use St. Mary's Soccer field or if what you say is true about Pendry Park, although I think you have it wrong, why not set up a football field where you already play your soccer home games? Direct question sir, please reply why this is not a good option for Brossart?

All this talk about Brossart building their own complex is really funny. Fact is, outside of the small gym at their school they don't provide anything at all. I think my old friends at Campbell are extremely helpful and if the field is available, so be it. If it isn't, the Brossart crowd needs to accept the reasons given and not undercut or nasty comment or garbage about paying taxes, like last time. I could be mistaken but the fact is Campbell already allows them to use the track and all its equipment and the middle school gym on occassions. Brossart also uses the soccer and baseball fields at Pendry Park for both boys and girls. The real discussion is Brossart needs to invest in its own physical plant. Everyone out in Alexandria has heard about the disagreements with St. Marys and St. Joes property being used by Brossart, so it is time for the Mustangs to come up with the cash. There are reasons why programs become expensive. It is time for Brossart to get serious about its programs. Their success should not be dependent on their lack of planning and investment. That is not fair to their students. If it cannot be done after the great success over the past few years the hard question is will it ever get done? Personally, I hope it does.

Best of luck to the Camel Seniors especially Griffin and Hurd. Those two always put it on the line best they could. Only saw the team a couple times this year but need to say one thing about these two, politeness and courtesy! Hats off to the parents. These boys always were considerate no matter what. This is not to take anything away from the rest of the seniors but these two were head above everyone else and being exceptional athletes makes them fine young men. Best of luck!:thumb:

I will put the integrity and independence of Brenda Jackson above anyone who posts or reads on this site. To suggest she will not act accordingly instead of directives have never dealt with her in any manner. Her appointment should be understood as the silent focus she will bring to make sure the right thing happens. If you think for one moment anyone of the KHSAA, like a Stan Steidel or a Bob Schneider can push over this woman, you are in for a major surprise. She has more backbone than the whole KHSAA board.

Shay will be good but will not be starting at varsity next year. He may see some varsity time but will not start. Hope the dads can get that through their heads.

Campbell County is very nice and in good shape.

Voting for the body government of a department within a government agency? I do not think our political system operates that way. To accept your proposal, who votes? Where does it stop? Boards for all government agencies? I understand your contention about appointments, but given who may be the voters in this board, I would much prefer the appointments over the vote. Yes, there are parts in this state I would not trust with a vote, example: look at some of the clowns that are sent to Frankfort as representatives and senators.

Pure speculation to start looking instead of study and review. But, what I think will and should be looked at is the board staffing of the organization as a whole. No one calls foul about Jullian Thacket running a referee class or program yet have a say about Sweet Sixteen officiating? Just one example. The bottom line to this organization is this, 20 plus years ago no one cared, really how high school sports ran. Today, it is a multi million dollar business that is staffed and run by (sorry to be direct), ex AD or AD of various schools. Come on, this group as a whole could not foster a successful opening of a Walmart in a barren town. This is now a business, its officers and directors need to be those of business, entertainment, marketing and legal backgrounds. AD's could serve as an advisory group but really need to be pushed aside. In a nutshell, proven time and again, they are in over their heads. To prove my point, take the total funds KHSAA runs currently and has say over, compare to any non profit or for profit business, name one other place those in place at KHSAA would find equal employment in another equal size or larger business. Hopefully this will occur but doubtful. The group looking into it, the BOE will be leaning on the Education Department for operational help. To define that group, reread the above and subtract 20% with staff serving contracts of retired educators. We shall see.

It looks like the only substance by the mustang faithful on this topic is the free food they grab out of the hospitality room in Maysville. Reitz has made it pretty clear and does not know how this stuff started.
