BaseballIsLife Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Drew Castleman hits a walk-off single in the bottom of the 8th with 2 outs and bases loaded to send the Eagles into the 37th District Championship and punch their tickets to the 10th Regional Tournament down in Montgomery Co.
SirMixAlot Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Very Sloppy game, a lot of walks and errors, Bush and Hurd both pitched well enough to get the win, The 8th inning is one of the most exciting innings i have ever seen. Campbell puts up 3 to make it 8-5 then it was the eagles turn. Hurd walked the first batter and then came in the relief pitcher. He walked the next three to make it 8-6, Then Bush grounds out to the second baseman making it 8-7 with one out with runners on 2nd and third. Next batter gets Intentionally walked and the batter after him strikes out. Then the Camels walk in the game tying run setting up the walk off single by Castleman. A heck of a game to be at, ashame that the Camels won't make it to region, certainaly they are one of the top teams in the 10th.
BredFan Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Congrats to the Scott kids and coaches. Who will pitch in the finals?
Butterfingers Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Congatulations to Scott, that shows some guts coming back. Good year for the Camels as well
changeup Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Good win for the Scott program. Back to Back Regional Births.
Old Soda Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Walks were the name of the game as Camel pitchers walk 13 and hit one, losing three run leads twice during the late stages of the game. Good luck to the Eagles as there was no quit in them when they got down late. Congrats to the Camels as well as their 19 wins is the most in one season during Coach Heringer's tenure.

Congrats to the Eagles on making it to the finals and on to regions. Got to be disappointing for the Camels after giving up two separate 3 run leads, including the 8th. Didn't get to see the game but giving up 13 walks (with his partner) and hitting a guy hardly sounds like "pitching good enough to win"?? Still a good season for the Camels!!
Old Soda Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Camels used three pitchers in the game, Hurd was used twice and he only gave up three of the runs. Woodruff and Harrison were the other pitchers for the Camels, with Harrison getting the loss.
SirMixAlot Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Good win for the Scott program. Back to Back Regional Births. actually its the 3rd year in a row the made to regionals their last year in the ninth.
statmanhensley Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Who all is going to be at the finals tomorrow? I'm thinking about heading up to the Skyline Bar before the game so if anyone wants to meet up there or at the game then that would be awesome to see some new faces from BGP.
Stayinline Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Best of luck to the Camel Seniors especially Griffin and Hurd. Those two always put it on the line best they could. Only saw the team a couple times this year but need to say one thing about these two, politeness and courtesy! Hats off to the parents. These boys always were considerate no matter what. This is not to take anything away from the rest of the seniors but these two were head above everyone else and being exceptional athletes makes them fine young men. Best of luck!:thumb:
dd734 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Old teacher I agree that Hurd and Griffin are great young men, but you must not know some of the other young men on that team to say that they are heads above the rest. There are many very polite and courtious young men on that team that are also very good athletes.
cowboyway Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Good luck to Scott ,they never quit. From what I've heard the camels vastly underachieved this season. Best of luck to the outgoing seniors. Good luck to next years team.
