The field is grass, thats why. Despite the condesending comments of leatherneck, who seems to forget how his beloved highlands football denied youth league games and the band the time to use highlands field when it was grass. Campbell has its own freshman, JV, varsity, middle school, 5/6 grade league and a new? 3/4 grade league, with Red Devils and the band and its program. Right now quite a few games are moved to the practice field. That means adding a game when all the games scheduled cannot play on right now. That is not fair to those taxpayers. Also, this talk about taxes - I been around long enough to know the seating at the football field was not paid by taxes, nor was the sprinkler system, the scoreboard, the new field surface and the new remodel of facilities and the field prep. No taxes used at all. Saying all that, if the field can be used and not hurt the above programs, sure, why not. But I think the decision should rest with the Campbell football coach. He is the one that has to use it and his team is the one that does most of the work on it.

Don't know about any email. The Brossart newsletter said there was no contract for games or practices. Just going by the school source.

Having retired from public education and a few years in the parochial schools, this type of statement does not surprise me at all. Having attended many school board meetings in all three counties, I never heard a discussion regarding the private schools. With that, serving on many committees in the parochial schools, I never found the public schools as part of the discussion. Mr. BGGreen assumes it is not the role of public school officials to not be focused on public school business and only public school business is very confusing. If it is the desire of bbhs to have a chance to use campbell county school property, they have to show how it benefits campbell county. That is brossart's responsiblity. If they fail to do that, they will have no luck. Also, hearing about Nc using Newport, all one needs to do is review the threads about Newport field conditions in the playoffs to see it is not a good deal. Word is that whole deal is going to change. Maybe, maybe not. But the bottom line is brossart has no right to use public school property. It may have permission but it has no right and for brossart supporters to threaten, yell and name call will find their goal hurt rather than helped. Mr BGGreen may want to keep that in mind. Keep this in mind to, making these kind of challenging comments and all you do is reinforce those who do not want to help brossart with ammunition. And make no mistake about my motives, I dearly wish for brossart to have football. I would love to see them eat Nc's lunch.

This is alot different from having varsity by next year, isn't it. I really hope they do pull it off. I just think the committee does not even have a cart to put a head of a horse.

The same old voters who will take out of social security more than they ever put into it and hope the younger generation covers their expenses years from now. Besides, it was posted before at what expense. If there is a profit involved in using the field, great but if not, I do not see how bbhs could justify spending around $2,000 per game. Do you? Remember, bbhs said they were doing this on 40,000. 3 or 4 home games comes out to a fair amount. This is the going rate for use of fields.

Do not be surprised if NCC has a different set of rules starting next year.

So the voters are going to elect someone who says to do things for a private school vs. a public school they are suppose to represent. Very strange election issue. Go to highlands, if you know the area then you know one has grass that is OK at best and the other is turf. Not hard to figure out.

Taxpayers?, that point has no validity at all. CC schools and facilities exist for cc students, by law. Just as bb school exist for bb students by choice. the football group of brossart would be stupid to have that as a claim to use. I am a taxpayer and last I checked I have no claim to use any facilities at Rupp Arena, UK, NKU, Boone County, Campbell County, city building, etc. Hopefully your info on other options is better than your point to have the right to use cchs field. Also, there is no reason to not be at either st joe or st mary. that is all part of the same group.

A child wrecks driving to the car and you ask who is at fault? That question can be applied to everything, everyday. If that is the reason by the schools that did not show that should be good enough. It is only a basketball game and it is not that big a deal. What should really be talked about is the silly thoughts that scheduling anything in Jan/Feb may have a weather problem and upset when it happens. That is called stupid.

Nc has a practice field and a contract with Newport schools. Brossart has no practice or game field. Unless they get St. Mary soccer field, not sure how they can play the sport.

That's the problem. I asked the booster president, coach and AD at Campbell County and they knew nothing about this but was upset to hear brossart people claiming they already had a contract to use the field. Turns out to be nothing to it. Sounds like the answer is to use St. Mary or St. Joe property, but if you believe the word on the street in Alexandria, the boosters at those schools are not happy about being a host. Sounds like the fairground people are a little unhappy about the practice idea. Jump the gun problem, maybe.

And to simply chase after dollars is a total waste of time. I be willing to bet Brossart will not pay what is needed to make it worthwhile.

I do not think it is going to happen. That field is already booked.

Walton will be ahead in this program. They are building a football field. Brossart does not even have a place to practice or play and I doubt they will get to use the camel football field. I think brossart will not even have a team this fall.

I am not sure the NewCath is as big an upset given the team issues for Holmes lately. I see the Bulldogs fading fast.
